Match Result: Belarus

Belarus might be in a fragile state after losing 8-0 last time out. Italy are a tad better than Azerbaijan though and we're making the prediction that Belarus bounce back with a win. They've been good at home recently having won three and drawn one of their last four. Azerbaijan's away form isn't good either; it's been six games since their last win on the road and they've lost the last three. Belarus won the last meeting between the two as well!

Total Goals: Over 2.5

We've already mentioned the 8-0 drubbing Belarus sufferers on their last match, which obviously distorts their recent form when it comes to the over/under 2.5 goals market. Even if you ignore that match they've seen an average of 4.8 in the five games prior to that demolition. The other factor to contributes obviously Azerbaijan; their last three matches have all seen three goals.

Anytime Scorer: Pavel Savitskiy

You might not use the word ‘prolific' to describe Pavel Savitskiy but backing him to score anytime still carries good value in our eyes – even if he might not start. The Rukh Brest winger averages a goal every 175 minutes for Belarus with six goals in 22 appearances. Two of those have come in his last three appearances; bearing in mind the last game was an away loss to Italy that means he's scored in back to back home matches. A good omen when this match is on Belarus' patch.

Belarus vs Azerbaijan: Match Overview

Belarus

Belarus might have missed out on at spot at the upcoming Euros but they'll be buoyed by their start to the World Cup qualifying campaign. If they're to maintain their battle for qualification they'll need the aforementioned Pavel Savitskiy, Evgeniy Yablonskiy and youngster Maks Ebong to be on top of their games.

Azerbaijan

Unlike Belarus, the odds already look stacked against Azerbaijan making anything like a chase for the World Cup. That's not what matters now though; all that matters now is putting a good shift in this game. If they're to do that it's likely to involve Emin Makhmudov; he's bagged two goals in his last two internationals.
