Arsenal vs Crystal Palace: Top free betting tips

Arsenal return to action after a two-week break on Saturday 20 January when they face Crystal Palace in the Premier League. The Eagles were in action on Wednesday night, losing to Everton in the FA Cup, so won't be as fresh as their opponents which bodes well for the Gunners. Our Arsenal vs Crystal Palace prediction is for the home side to get back to winning ways as they look to get themselves back in the title race.

Match handicap prediction: Arsenal -1

Arsenal have been in poor form of late and the break came at the perfect time. It will have allowed key players to rest their bodies and refresh their minds while also giving Mikel Arteta the opportunity to work on some things on the training ground. Arsenal have won three of their last five home Premier League matches by two goals or more and we are backing them to do the same on Saturday.

Total goals prediction: Over 2.5 goals

For whatever reason, Crystal Palace are a better side away from home particularly in front of goal. They have scored seven goals in their last five away Premier League matches which will give them some confidence coming into this one. Arsenal are usually good for a couple of goals at home, too, and have scored 20 goals in their last eight matches at the Emirates Stadium in all competitions.

Correct score prediction: Arsenal 3-1 Crystal Palace

Both teams need a win here for different reasons. Anything other than three points would likely put an end to Arsenal's title aspirations while a bad loss could see Roy Hodgson lose his job at Crystal Palace. Given Arsenal will be far fresher than Palace, and the fact they have more quality in their squad, we are going for a comfortable 3-1 win for Arteta's men.

Arsenal predicted lineup vs Crystal Palace

Arsenal fans received the boosts of all boosts this week when Jurrien Timber was pictured training with the first team on their warm-weather training camp in Dubai. While this match surely comes too soon for Timber, the possibility of him playing again in a few weeks is now very real. Elsewhere, Partey, Vieira and Zinchenko remain out injured while Tomiyasu and Elneny are away on international duty. Gabriel Jesus has recovered from a knee injury and is expected to start the match.

Raya – White, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior – Rice, Havertz, Odegaard – Saka, Jesus, Martinelli

Crystal Palace predicted lineup vs Arsenal

In light of Arsenal's defensive woes, Rob Holding would have liked the opportunity to show the Gunners what they are missing out on but the Englishman will sit this one out with an ankle injury. He isn't the only Palace player who is unavailable for this one, either, as Olise, Dououre, Ward and Rak-Sakyi are all also busy in the treatment room. Jordan Ayew is another absentee for the Eagles as he is at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Henderson – Clyne, Guehi, Andersen, Mitchell – Lerma, Eze, Richards – Schlupp, Edouard, Mateta
