Red Bull Salzburg vs Benfica top free betting tips
The Austrian giants face off against the Portuguese giants in a match from Group D of the Champions League. Salzburg are pretty much confirmed to finish in a third spot which would see the Austrian club fall into the Europa League while Benfica will be exiting the Champions League at the group stage after collecting just one point so far.
Total goals prediction: Over 2.5 Goals
For our first prediction, we predict that the total number of goals in this fixture will be 2.5 or more. Benfica has conceded ten times in five Champions League matches this season giving the Portuguese club an average of two goals conceded per match and the club are scoring at just under one goal per match. Salzburg have struggled to find their scoring boots thus far and has scored just three times in five matches, but, with the pressure pretty much off for this fixture, we believe that will help Salzburg in their quest to find those shooting boots. Salzburg managed to score two of their three goals in the previous match against Benfica in Portugal so with the Austrian side having home advantage, that should help.
Both teams to score prediction: Yes
For our second prediction, we predict that both sides will find the back of the net. In Austria, Salzburg is unsurprisingly top of the table and has scored on average two goals per match but the club has seemed a bit all over the place defensively also and with the players that Benfica do have, they should be able to score at least once. Benfica has scored twenty-four times in thirteen matches in the top flight of Portuguese football. Benfica has incredible attacking talent such as Rafa Silva, Petar Musa and Angel Di Maria who should be able to find the back of Salzburg's net.
Correct score prediction: 2-1 to Red Bull Salzburg
Our third and final prediction, we go to the correct score market and have put Salzburg to walk away with a 2-1 victory over their opponents from Portugal. Benfica has picked up just one point from their five group-stage matches so far and even managed to fall to a 2-0 defeat to Salzburg in the return fixture which was at Benfica's stadium. Both sides do not have much to play for so the pressure will be off which could well help both teams, but with Salzburg's home advantage, we can only see this match going one way.
