Eredivisie

Eredivisie tips and predictions

The Dutch Eredivisie is full of teams that have caused some problems for some of the gladiators of Europe in their time. With the likes of Ajax, Feyenoord, and PSV all taking part in this league, there’s a lot of great football that goes on. And where there’s great football, there are great betting markets, as identified here:

Prediction 1 – Vitesse vs Heerenveen: Both Teams to Score

A game between Heerenveen and Vitesse is anything but goalless. The last time when both teams failed to score against each other was in 2015. It has only happened once in the last 30 times meetings between the clubs. Vitesse have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last six games. While Heerenveen have managed to achieve the feat only three times out of ten recent outings. The fixture has never been short of goals, and we expect goals from both teams.

Odds: 9/10  (1.90)
Kick-Off: 20 August 2022, 14:30 BST

Prediction 2 – Ajax vs Sparta Rotterdam: Both Teams to Score

After a resounding 6-1 win against Groningen, Ajax will lock horns with Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday. The Dutch giants have been scoring for fun lately. They average over 2.5 goals per game in their last 10 games. As much as their attacking power has been top-notch, their defense seems porous. Ajax have kept only one clean sheet in the last 10 outings, while Sparta Rotterdam have found the back of the net in eight of their nine recent games. Five of the last seven matches between the teams have produced goals at both ends of the pitch.

Odds: 5/7 (1.71)
Kick-Off: 21 August 2022, 12:30 BST

Prediction 3 – Feyenoord vs RKC Waalwijk: Over 2.5 Goals

RKC will resume the quest for their first three points of the season when they host Feyenoord on Sunday. RKC are finding it hard to restrain their opponents. Their defenses have been breached 15 times in the last five games. With a shaky backline, the onus is on the forwards to deliver the goods and they have done a pretty good job as they are yet to lose a league game. On the other hand, Feyenoord have scored 13 goals in the last four games. Five of the last six games between the clubs have produced more than 2.5 goals and we expect nothing different this weekend.

Odds: 5/6 (1.83)
Kick-Off: 21 August 2022, 14:45 BST

Dutch Eredivisie outright markets

Besides the weekly Eredivisie games that take place, you will also find many different outright markets for this particular league. Outright markets are different from your regular pre-match markets as they often won’t be settled until the very end of the season, and the odds can be pretty decent for such markets. Just check out some of the best right here.

To win the league

At the end of the day, somebody has to win the league, and this is one of the most popular Eredivisie outright markets. The beauty of this league is that your choices of likely winners are much less than other leagues in Europe. In fact, it’s often a two-horse race between Ajax and PSV, but we are inclined to go for Ajax based on their team and their recent performances.

To qualify for the Champs League

In the Eredivisie League, there are just 2 teams that can qualify for the Champions League. That means that you have a relatively decent shot at picking a winner here, especially since the league is so heavily dominated by two teams – PSV and Ajax. Of course, by picking these teams you won’t get a great return, but they are pretty likely to qualify.

To qualify for Europa League

Since the Eredivisie League is based in Europe, there are also several spots open for teams to qualify for the Europa League. As it happens, any team that finishes between 3rd and 8th will have a shot to qualify, with teams finishing 3rd and 4th qualifying automatically. For this market, the value lies in the teams that are more likely to have to playoff for their position in the Europa League. Such teams include the likes of FC Utrecht, FC Groningen, and FC Twente, all of which are good shouts for this market.

Eredivisie League – alternative markets

If you are betting on the Eredivisie League from the UK, you may not know all that much about the teams that are playing. This is why it is quite easy to just stick to the individual games and outright markets, however, that’s not always where the value lies. In fact, the value can often be hidden in the alternative markets, as shown here.

Result/both teams to score

The both teams to score market is a bit of a fan favourite with UK punters, but you can take things a step further with this one. To get the win here, not only do both teams have to score a goal, but you must also pick the team that will win the match. Of course, for this bet to come true you need at least 3 goals to be scored in the game, so it's best to pick out teams that are very attacking.

Handicap betting

Now and then, the standard moneyline markets don’t offer a great return, especially when a strong team goes up against a weaker one. That’s where this market can be particularly useful, as you effectively put a handicap on the outcome of the game, either in favour of the stronger team or for the underdogs. These are indicated by positive and negative symbols next to the odds, and usually, handicap betting is all to do with the number of goals scored.

Eredivisie League – where to bet

This is a decent league to bet on in terms of the coverage from major betting sites, so you don’t need to worry too much about being able to find Eredivisie betting markets. However, you do need to concern yourself with where to find the most competitive odds, streaming services, mobile betting, and bonuses. These are the kinds of features you can expect to find at the betting sites mentioned here:

  1. Bet365
  2. Betfair
  3. Betfred
  4. Coral
  5. Paddy Power

At most of these sites, it is quite common to find a selection of more than 50 markets for a standard Eredivisie game. To add to that, you can watch many of the games from either the desktop or mobile site, which is a great positive. Of course, all of these sites have the required betting license to make them legal too.

FAQs – betting on the Eredivisie League

Can I build my own bet for this league?

This is actually dependent on whether your selected betting site has a ‘bet builder’ tool, which many of the leading sites do have. If it isn’t available at your chosen site, you can always request a market through the relative support channels.

Can I cash-out my wagers?

Yes, although there is no guarantee that a cash-out offer will be made for any of your bets. In order for a cash-out to be offered, your bet has to be looking likely to result in a win, which is when the site will offer the chance at an early profit.

How long must I wait for my winnings?

Upon making a winning Eredivisie bet, your winnings will usually be added to your real money balance immediately.
