Sheffield United vs Brighton: Top free betting tips

Sheffield United are set to face Brighton in the Premier League on Sunday, 18 February at Bramall Lane. Sheffield United have renewed hope of a great escape after winning away at Luton last weekend so Brighton will have to be wary in Yorkshire. The Seagulls are still in the hunt for European football next season so the game is important to them, too. Check out our full Sheffield United vs Brighton prediction below.

Match result prediction: Draw

Sheffield United have already proven they are capable of producing the good against Brighton with the Blades securing point at the Amex Stadium earlier in the season. Then, when the two teams were drawn to play each other in the FA Cup, Wilder's men came from 2-0 down to level the match before falling away in the second half. Brighton are also the team with the most draws (eight) in the Premier League this season so it wouldn't be the most surprising result in the world.

Total goals prediction: Over 3.5 goals

Although results haven't necessarily improved under Chris Wilder, Sheffield United have become more of a goalscoring threat. At the same time, they are still leaking goals for fun which makes the over 2.5 goals market a sensible one to back whenever they play. Each of their last six matches have seen four goals or more so it would almost be a surprise if that trend didn't continue on Sunday. What's more, the last time Brighton faced Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, seven goals went in.

Correct score prediction: Sheffield United 2-2 Brighton

There is no point at this stage of the season for Sheffield United to sit back and try to soak up pressure because a) their defence isn't capable of doing it and b) they need to win football matches regularly if they are to pull off an incredible escape. Therefore, we expect an end-to-end match with lots of goals.

Simon Adingra is finally available for selection again after the winger returned from the Africa Cup of Nations earlier in the week. Adingra's return has coincided with the returns of Kaoru Mitoma and Ansu Fati and all of a sudden, the Seagulls look to have a superb attacking threat once again. On the injury front, Joao Pedro, Jack Hinshelwood, James Milner, Julio Enciso and Solly March will all miss the match on Sunday.
