Bristol Rovers to Win

Bristol Rovers finally won their first away game of the new campaign last weekend when they notched twice late on to record a comeback victory at Walsall and back on home turf on Saturday, The Pirates are favourites to post a follow-up triumph against Swindon. Rovers have won three out of four League Two matches at The Memorial Stadium and we’re tipping them to harness home advantage again.

Both Teams to Score

Swindon’s results have been regressing in recent weeks, though The Robins have at least maintained a decent scoring rate, hitting the net at least once in four of their last five assignments as well as all of their league tests on the road since the summer. Town are capable of impacting the scoresheet again on Saturday, though keeping a Rovers outfit that scored in three successive home games should be tough. With those factors considered, back both teams to score this weekend.

Half Time Result: Draw

Remarkably, in a combined 18 League Two fixtures so far this term, Bristol Rovers and Swindon have established a first half lead just once since the start of the campaign. A massive seven of The Robins’ first nine games were level at the interval and with Town’s knack for keeping things tight in the early exchanges well-established, backing the teams to be all square at the break looks a smart option this week.

Bristol Rovers Team News

Leon Clarke, Sam Nicholson, Alex Rodman and Trevor Clarke are all in the treatment room and likely to miss Saturday's game. There are also doubts over the fitness of keeper Anssi Jaakkol, Mark Hughes, Josh Grant and Luca Hoole. Rovers should be in good spirits this weekend following their last-minute winner at Walsall. Another positive result against Swindon could fire The Pirates in to the top half of League Two’s table.

Swindon Team News

Rob Hunt, Harry McKirdy, Anthony Grant, Mathieu Baudry and Jordan Lyden are all rated as doubtful for Swindon ahead of the weekend. Town have dropped points in each of their last four League Two matches and though they are still conceding less than a goal per 90 minutes this term, their results aren’t quite matching up to their defensive performances.
