Preston North End vs Sheffield Wednesday top free betting tips
Ninth-placed Preston North End welcomes twenty-third placed Sheffield Wednesday to Deepdale for a clash just before 2023 ends. Preston are an interesting team with their form all over the place, they managed to lost 5-1 to Watford just before Christmas despite being 1-0 up and then managed to beat Leeds United by two goals to one in their previous fixture. Sheffield Wednesday are proving a much more difficult side to face under Danny Rohl but the points they need are still avading them as things stand. Three wins and one draw in their previous ten matches.
Correct outcome prediction: Preston North End to Win
Preston on paper should comfortably win this fixture but the reality will be much closer. Recently, Sheffield Wednesday have been a better side than they were at the start of the season but they are still losing matches. We can see them losing this one too against a good Preston side who will be on a high after earning three points against Leeds United. Preston has won six of their twelve home matches this term while Sheffield Wednesday has lost ten of their twelve away games.
Both teams to score prediction: Yes
Despite being in the relegation zone, Sheffield Wednesday has scored in all but one of their previous eight matches, a run that ended in their previous match against Coventry which saw The Owls lose 2-0. Both teams have found the back of the net in four of the previous five matches for Preston.
Correct score prediction: 2-1 to Preston North End
Preston will be happy with this result which will make it two wins in a row and further cement the club as a challenger for the playoff spots, despite the fans not being happy with manager Ryan Lowe. Preston has won four of the previous five meetings with Sheffield Wednesday with just one of them finishing with a goal margin of more than one goal.
Preston North End vs Sheffield Wednesday: What do the fans think?
A cautious Preston fan has his say after Preston's win against Leeds United
Much better today with effort and attacking intent. Slightly worrying how we couldn’t finish the game of against 10 men when we went 1-0 up. Without miller we don’t win that game he’s on another level to rest of players but it’s a great 3 points and hopefully another 3 coming.

This Owls fan hopes the manager is backed in January
Statistically, since DR has come to the club, we've been the better team in the majority of games, we just don't have the quality of players to kill teams off. The summer recruitment was pretty bad, except for a couple of players. Hopefully DC backs Danny in January.
