Brentford vs Liverpool: Top free betting tips

Brentford will take on Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday, 17 February in a huge match for both ends of the table. A win for Brentford would move them nine points clear of the relegation zone while a win for Liverpool would see them go five points clear of Arsenal and Manchester City. Ahead of the match, check out our full Brentford vs Liverpool prediction below.

Match result prediction: Draw

Brentford haven't had a great season by any stretch of the imagination but they have certainly looked better since Ivan Toney returned to the team in the middle of January. The centre forward has helped them to two wins in four league matches since his came back against Nottingham Forest and they gave Man City a scare at the Gtech Community Stadium just a few weeks ago. What's more, the Reds' PL record away at Brentford is poor – one draw and one loss in two visits.

Total goals prediction: Over 2.5 goals

With Ivan Toney back up front, Brentford are far more of an attacking threat while Liverpool have continued to score at high volumes despite Mo Salah's absence over the past six weeks. Brentford have scored eight goals in their last four league matches (an average of two goals a match with Toney starting this season), while Liverpool have scored 13 in their last four matches in all competitions (an average of more than three goals a match). This has all the makings of a high-scoring fixture.

Correct score prediction: Brentford 2-2 Liverpool

A couple of years ago, Brentford and Liverpool played out a 3-3 thriller at the Gtech Community Stadium and another high-scoring draw is what we are going for here. Yoane Wissa's return from AFCON will only boost Brentford's attacking threat while Mo Salah is in contention to return from a hamstring injury for the away side.

Brentford vs Liverpool team news

Brentford predicted lineup vs Liverpool

Brentford have welcomed Yoane Wissa and Franck Onyeka back to training this weekend after the pair went deep at AFCON 2023. Wissa's DR Congo finished in fourth place at the tournament while Onyeka's Nigeria made it all the way to the final, before losing out to Ivory Coast. Both men could come straight into the Brentford starting lineup in what would be a huge boost to Thomas Frank. In terms of unavailable players, Hickey, Henry, Dasilva, Mbuemo and Schade are all injured.

Flekken – Rasmussen, Collins, Pinnock, Mee, Reguilon – Onyeka, Norgaard, Janelt – Toney, Maupay

Liverpool predicted lineup vs Brentford

Liverpool could be without several first team players for the trip to Brentford on Saturday including Dominik Szoboszlai and Trent Alexander-Arnold with the latter being forced off with a knee injury against Burnley last weekend. In better news, Mo Salah is back in training and could be involved against Brentford, even if it does mean starting on the bench while Ibrahima Konate is available again after suspension. The likes of Matip, Thiago and Bajcetic are all definitely out with long-term problems.

Alisson – Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson – Endo, Mac Allister, Jones – Jota, Nunez, Diaz
