Chelsea vs Liverpool: Top free betting tips

Chelsea and Liverpool are set to go head to head in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, 25 February with both teams looking to win the first trophy available this season. For Liverpool, it's an opportunity to keep their hopes of winning four trophies alive while for Chelsea, it's a chance to make something of an otherwise disappointing campaign. Who will come out on top at Wembley on Sunday and lift the Carabao Cup? Check out our Chelsea vs Liverpool prediction below.

Match result prediction: Chelsea to lift the trophy

When you compare how both teams have fared this season, Liverpool look like bankers to win the cup on Sunday. However, context and timing is everything and Chelsea could be playing the Jurgen Klopp's men at the perfect time. Liverpool are missing a large number of players due to injury while Chelsea come into the match on the back of a great performance at the Etihad Stadium. The match also perhaps means more to the Blues as Liverpool will consider the Premier League and Europa League as priorities.

Both teams to score prediction: Yes

We don't anticipate this match following the pattern of the two cup finals Liverpool and Chelsea played against each other in 2022. Both of those matches finished scoreless and were settled via a penalty shootout, however, Chelsea are a far more open team than they were two years ago while Liverpool's injuries will make them a more fragile outfit, too. In both PL meetings between the two sides this season, the both teams to score market has been covered and we think the same will happen again this weekend.

Correct score prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool

Liverpool come into this match in fantastic form but it's unreasonable to expect them to keep winning when key players are getting injured every week. They came through their league match against Luton on Wednesday night despite being 1-0 down at half time and we don't think Chelsea will let them off the hook as easily as the Hatters did.

Chelsea predicted lineup vs Liverpool

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has no new injury concerns after their draw with Man City last week which means the Argentinian will surely line up with the same 11. Benoit Badiashile, Reece James, Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana, Carney Chukwuemeka, Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochukwu are all missing through injury but Thiago Silva and Robert Sanchez have a chance of making the bench.

Petrovic – Gusto, Disasi, Colwill, Chilwell – Caicedo, Fernandez, Gallagher – Palmer, Jackson, Sterling

Liverpool predicted lineup vs Chelsea

Liverpool also have a significant injury list but their injured players are some of the club's best players. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson, Joel Matip, Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones and Thiago Alcantara are all certain to miss the trip to London while Mo Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai and Darwin Nunez will face late fitness tests. Cody Gakpo is likely to lead the line regardless of who is or isn't fit after scoring four goals in the Carabao Cup this season.

Kelleher – Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson – Endo, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai – Salah, Gakpo, Diaz

How far will Chelsea fans travel to Wembley?

Chelsea fans have a much shorter journey than Liverpool for the match on Sunday. Chelsea fans just have to make their way across London to either Wembley Park or Wembley Central train station and then walk up the stadium.

How far will Liverpool fans travel to Wembley?

The journey for Liverpool fans isn't quite as straightforward. They can either take the car or coach and drive down the M6 and M1 in a journey that is 210 miles in length. Alternatively, they can get a direct train from Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston before then making their way to Wembley Park or Wembley Central.

Chelsea vs Liverpool: Tickets

Both clubs were given an allocation of 32,169 tickets for the match and both clubs had no issue selling all of these tickets. The only way to get hold of tickets for the Carabao Cup final now is to become a member at Club Wembley for a minimum of £2,538. Both clubs are urging supporters to avoid purchasing tickets from touts on the black market.
