Luton vs Brighton: Top free betting tips

Luton are set to welcome Brighton to Kenilworth Road on Wednesday, 30 January with both teams coming into the match in high spirits after their respective FA Cup wins at the weekend. Can Luton avenge their opening-day defeat by getting one over Roberto de Zerbi's men or will the Seagulls have too much firepower for the Hatters? Our Luton vs Brighton prediction is for a high-scoring match between two teams who will look to play on the front foot for the entire 90 minutes.

Match result prediction: Brighton to win

Brighton were in superb form on Saturday afternoon when they put five past Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. The Seagulls have been in excellent form since the beginning of December and they have only lost one of their last ten matches and that was away at Arsenal. De Zerbi has been able to welcome back some injured stars while Joao Pedro has taken his game to another level. Although Luton are in good form themselves, we believe Brighton will have too much for them on the night.

Both teams to score prediction: Yes

Both teams were impressive in front of goal at the weekend with Brighton scoring five and Luton scoring two. The Hatters have already been involved in some high-scoring matches against top-quality opposition this season – in December, they lost 4-3 to Arsenal and 3-2 to Chelsea in two matches that will be contenders for game of the season. Brighton, meanwhile, have scored 13 goals in their last five matches.

Correct score prediction: Luton 1-3 Brighton

Luton should be good for at least one goal at home, however, Brighton were brilliant last time out and if they can replicate that form then three goals at Kenilworth Road shouldn't be a problem for them. Luton arguably need the points more but a win for Brighton would keep them in the race for a top-six finish.

Roberto de Zerbi played the FA Cup similar to Rob Edwards in that he went strong while still managing to give some key players a rest. Lewis Dunk is one man who should come straight back into the starting lineup while James Milner and Danny Welbeck could be recalled too. Kaoru Mitoma and Simon Adingra are still away on international duty while Enciso, Fati, March and Veltman are all unavailable for selection due to injuries.

Verbruggen – Lamptey, Dunk, Webster, Igor, Estupinan – Gilmour, Milner – Welbeck, Ferguson, Pedro
