Newcastle vs Man Utd: Top free betting tips

The biggest game in the Premier League this weekend takes place on Saturday night and our Newcastle vs Man Utd prediction is a score draw. The two sides are separated by one position and one point in the Premier League table and both of them are looking to close the gap on those above them.

Match result prediction: Draw

After a difficult start to the season, Manchester United have become the form team in the Premier League with 15 points from their last six games. Their away form has been good, winning their last four matches away from Old Trafford in the Premier League. Newcastle, meanwhile, have been very good at home, winning all their matches at St James' Park apart from one. The two sides are too hard to split which leans us towards a draw.

Total goals prediction: Over 2.5 goals

Manchester United found goals hard to come by at the start of the season but are now looking like a more cohesive unit going forward. The Reds have scored ten goals in their last four matches in all competitions and scored three at Goodison Park last weekend. Newcastle, meanwhile, have been prolific all season with only Manchester City scoring more goals than them in the Premier League so far.

Correct score prediction: Newcastle 2-2 Man Utd

Both teams were in action away from home in the Champions League in midweek and both suffered disappointing draws from winning positions. Manchester United played further away and a day later so in theory, their squad should be more tired than Newcastle's, however, the circumstances in which Newcastle drew the match in Paris will surely have had a negative impact on their players. We expect an open match between two wounded teams.

Man Utd predicted lineup vs Newcastle

Erik Ten Hag has had to deal with injuries throughout the season so far and he is still missing a number of first team players including Lisandro Martinez and Mason Mount. In recent weeks, Luke Shaw has returned to action for the Reds while teenager Kobbie Mainoo has rapidly made himself virtually undroppable in midfield.

Onana – Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw – Mainoo, McTominay, Fernandes – Garnacho, Hojlund, Rashford

Newcastle predicted lineup vs Man Utd

If there is one manager in the league who won't have any sympathy for Ten Hag when it comes to injuries then it'll be Eddie Howe who is dealing with a player availability crisis himself. Howe is missing the likes of Sven Botman, Harvey Barnes, Jacob Murphy and Dan Burn due to injury while Sandro Tonali is serving his long suspension from the game for gambling breaches.

Pope – Trippier, Lascelles, Schar, Livramento – Guimaraes, Miley, Joelinton – Almiron, Isak, Gordon

Is Callum Wilson fit?

Callum Wilson has enjoyed a great start to the 2023/24 season, scoring seven league goals in ten appearances for the Magpies. Unfortunately for the striker, he injured his hamstring a fortnight ago and he won't be available for selection for the match against Manchester United. Wilson is expected to return before the end of 2023.

How far will Man Utd fans travel to Newcastle?

Manchester United fans will make the 145-mile trip north to Newcastle on Saturday with many expected to arrive early in the day to enjoy a day of drinking in Newcastle city centre before the 8pm kick off. Under normal circumstances, most fans would have taken the train from Manchester Piccadilly to Newcastle, but as the last train back to Manchester is at 21:50, the majority of United fans will be forced to drive or take the coach.

Newcastle vs Man Utd: Tickets

Newcastle and Man Utd have two of the largest match-going fanbases in the country so it is unsurprising that this match has been a sell-out for some time. Newcastle do still have some limited hospitality options available for the match but fans will have to pay a premium for those. Man Utd's away allocation of 3,007 tickets was sold out during the first season ticket ballot.

Fans should be wary of purchasing tickets on third-party websites for this match, with many people trying to fake tickets at an inflated rate.
