Newcastle vs Luton: Top free betting tips

Newcastle are set to face Luton on Saturday, 3 February in a match between two of the biggest winners from the Premier League's most recent midweek fixtures. Can either team carry momentum through to record another victory or will they end up sharing the spoils? Our Newcastle vs Luton prediction is for the Magpies to make it four wins in five matches in all competitions but it won't be straightforward.

Match result prediction: Newcastle to win

Newcastle have looked back to their best in recent weeks with the win over Sunderland in the FA Cup at the beginning of January seemingly bringing the Magpies back to life. Their most impressive win of the season came last time out at Villa Park when they became the only team to beat Aston Villa at their home stadium this season. Although Isak went off injured against Villa, Callum Wilson should be fit to take his place so the loss won't be too significant.

Both teams to score prediction: Yes

While Newcastle have been impressive lately, so have Luton Town. Long gone are the days when people had written them off as relegation certainties with Rob Edward's side also enjoying their bets performance this season on Tuesday night when they beat Brighton 4-0 at Kenilworth Road. Adebayo bagged a hat trick in the rout which will make him a dangerous opponent on Saturday.

Correct score prediction: Newcastle 2-1

Newcastle have scored ten goals in their last four games while Luton have scored nine in their last four so both teams to score seems to be a safe bet on Saturday. We're predicting Newcastle to get the all-important third goal mainly due to home advantage as they are typically a different beast at St James' Park while Luton are usually slightly poorer away from Kenilworth Road.

Newcastle predicted lineup vs Luton

Alexander Isak is the biggest injury concern for Eddie Howe and Newcastle coming into this match after the Swede was forced off at halftime against Aston Villa. Howe is hopeful that Wilson will be fit enough to replace Isak in the starting eleven, however, Joelinton, Barnes, Lascelles, Anderson, Willock and Pope all remain unavailable. Miguel Almiron now looks set to stay at St James' Park despite links to Saudi Arabia and he could start up front if Wilson doesn't make it.

Dubravka – Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn – Guimaraes, Longstaff, Miley – Almiron, Wilson, Gordon

Luton predicted lineup vs Newcastle

Luton could welcome Issa Kabore back this weekend after Burkina Faso were knocked out of AFCON 2023 but Rob Edwards will surely want to stick with the same starting eleven that defeated Brighton 4-0. Jacob Brown could be fit enough for the bench, however, Marvelous Nakamba and Mads Anderson remain injured. In heartwarming scenes, Tom Lockyer returned to the Luton training ground this week, however, he is obviously a long way away from ever potentially returning.

Kaminski – Ogbene, Bell, Osho, Burke; Ogbene, Doughty – Lokonga, Barkley – Clark, Morris, Adebayo
