The Club and its supporters are feeling a sense of relief today, with the news that Lewisham Council are no longer pursuing plans to buy up land around the ground, as part of a wider regeneration project. Lewisham Council were looking serve compulsorily purchase orders on land around the Den Stadium. Although the Den ground itself was not directly affected by this, the losing of land around the ground, would have meant that the Club would have lost most of their car park, plus the Millwall Cafe, Lions Centre and other supporting infrastructure. The Club argued that this would make the stadium untenable and that they would have been forced to relocate elsewhere. It was even muted that the Club might have to move to North Kent, which was somewhat unthinkable fans, who will now be celebrating this reversal of Council decision.
