Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool: Top free betting tips
Nottingham Forest will look to bounce back from their FA Cup exit when they take on Liverpool at the City Ground on Saturday, 2 March. Nuno Espirito Santo's men arguably have the hardest possible fixture with Liverpool flying at the moment in all four competitions. Can Forest put a dent in Liverpool's quadruple charge or will Klopp's men record another win? Check out our Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool prediction below.
Match result prediction: Liverpool to win
With injuries and tired legs still present in the Liverpool camp, this match won't be as easy as some people may expect on the face of it. Nottingham Forest are in desperate need of points after slipping to 17th position in the week and with a potential point deduction looming over their heads. However, Liverpool have undeniable momentum at the minute and we expect them to get over the line regardless of how Klopp lines up.
Anytime goalscorer prediction: Mo Salah
Mo Salah is expected to make his return for Liverpool at the weekend after missing the majority of January and February with injuries and international duty. The Egyptian has been tremendous all season for the Reds and has scored 15 goals and provided nine assists in 21 Premier League appearances. Nottingham Forest's defence is questionable at the best of times, something Salah should take full advantage of.
Correct score prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-3 Liverpool
We expect Nottingham Forest to still be in the match deep into the second half but Liverpool's class and decisiveness in the final third will seal them the three points. Mo Salah should be back, as should Darwin Nunez, and we can't see how Forest's leaky defence will be able to keep them both quiet for 90 minutes.
Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool team news
Nottingham Forest predicted lineup vs Liverpool
Nuno Espirito Santo's injury frustrations continue as he still awaits further news on the availability of Sangare, Aina and Boly. The trio all competed in the AFCON 2023 final but have all returned to Nottingham with injury problems. Chris Wood is still unavailable with a thigh problem while Nuno Tavares will also miss out. Divock Origi may end up starting the match against his former employers while Taiwo Awoniyi – who scored against Liverpool last season – could be demoted to the bench.
Sels – Williams, Murillo, Niakhate, Toffolo – Danilo, Dominguez – Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi – Origi
Liverpool predicted lineup vs Nottingham Forest
Santo won't get sympathy from Jurgen Klopp when it comes to injuries. Klopp is being forced to navigate a tricky part of the season with plenty of academy graduates after several first-team players went down injured. Salah, Nunez and Szobsoszlai could all return to the squad this weekend, however, Gravenberch, Endo, Matip, Jones, Alexander-Arnold, Bajcetic, Thiago, Jota and Alisson will all have to watch the match from home.
Kelleher – Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson – Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Elliott – Salah, Nunez, Diaz
