Sweden to score both halves – yes

Sweden might have gone through a difficult run at the recent Nations League campaign. However, the team have a huge morale boost with Ibrahimovic returning to the national team fold. Despite being 39, the striker with 62 goals for the national team cannot be ignored. Ibrahimovic adds a lot of value to the Swedish squad, which already possesses some strong players like Dejan Kulusevski and Robin Quaison.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic to score anytime

Zlatan Ibrahimovic makes his return to the international scene after four years following his retirement in 2016. The AC Milan forward has 15 goals in as many league appearances this season. His recent form may not be great with just one goal in his last six matches, but the quality possessed by the big Swede will be too hot to handle for Georgia.

Total goals under 2.5

Sweden step into the match amidst poor form in recent games. The return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the squad will be a major boost. Georgia, though, have been devoid of any major defeats since the 5-1 loss to Denmark in June 2019. Georgia’s defence should be able to hold out for a decent score.

Sweden vs Georgia: Preview and Team News

Sweden

Sweden boss Janne Andersson has a huge helping hand from Ibrahimovic when he attempts to revive the national team’s fortunes ahead of the World Cup. The national team are a strong favourite in Group B, which includes former champions Spain. If Sweden are able to get a good start, things will start looking up for Andersson’s men, who have just one win and four defeats in the last five games. There are no major injury problems for Andersson, who has named a strong squad for the games against Georgia and Kosovo.

Georgia

There are some crucial absentees for Georgia, as the likes of Valeri Qazaishvili, Zuriko Davitashvili, and Valeriane Gvilia would be unavailable. The team is trying to turn around a very poor patch of form. Georgia are winless in the last 17 World Cup matches to this game. Even against teams around them – like Estonia and North Macedonia – in the rankings, Georgia have been struggling for positive results. Willy Sagnol will be looking for a positive result in his first game in charge of Georgia.
