Sligo Rovers vs UCD predictions and top betting tips

Occupying two of the bottom three spaces in the League of Ireland this season, Sligo Rovers will be hoping to pick up a win as they host UCD.

Double chance prediction: Sligo Rovers or UCD

For our first prediction, we here at Football Ground Guide have gone with either Sligo Rovers or UCD to win this battle. Looking at the head-to-head record, there have been just two draws from 20 meetings with the last five meetings giving us four Sligo Rovers wins and one UCD win.

Total match goals prediction: Under 2.5 goals

Three of Sligo Rovers' last four matches in the League of Ireland have seen 2.5 goals or less and in all of their last four Sligo Rovers have failed to score a single goal. Looking at UCD's recent form gives us a very similar feeling with UCD failing to score in all of their previous three games with three of their last five games having under 2.5 goals.

Correct score prediction: 1-0 to Sligo Rovers

In our third and final prediction, we here at Football Ground Guide have gone with a narrow 1-0 win for Sligo Rovers. UCD have won just two games this season, one of which did come against Sligo Rovers but we expect Sligo Rovers to overturn their current form and get back to winning ways. UCD are conceding goals for fun but with Sligo Rovers only scoring 30 goals in 29 matches, we can not see this game finishing with plenty of goals.

Sligo Rovers vs UCD preview

Sligo Rovers preview

Sligo Rovers who won the League of Ireland back in 2012 are currently going through a rough patch and will be watching over their shoulder this season with a potential relegation play-off spot being just around the corner for them. They currently sit just three points above that relegation play-off spot which is currently occupied by Cork City. With 15 defeats in 29 games this season, they have not won a match since beating Cork City in July and will be looking to end that run this weekend against basement side UCD.

UCD preview

UCD, also known as University College Dublin, survived relegation last season winning a relegation play-off game against Waterford thanks to a single goal from Tom Lonergan but this season it has not gone even that well with the club picking up just ten points from 29 games with those ten points coming from two wins and four draws. They have scored just 15 goals and have conceded a whopping 76.
