Fanduel Sportsbook vs Draftkings Sportsbook: An in-depth comparison

Struggling to choose in the battle between FanDuel vs DraftKings? We’ve got your back with this comparison of the key features right here!

Welcome bonuses – FanDuel vs DraftKings – FanDuel wins

DraftKings – 4/5

Both DraftKings and FanDuel have pretty high welcome rewards, but there are two reasons for why we’ve given this mark for DraftKings. Firstly, the reward operates as a 20% first deposit match, which means you’d have to deposit $5,000 to get the maximum value. The bonus also isn’t released immediately, which means there are more hoops to jump through to really maximize the value from the offer.

FanDuel – 5/5

In our opinion, the FanDuel welcome offer is more favorable for a few reasons. It’s super simple to claim this offer, since it is just a straight-up risk-free wager with a maximum cashback value of $1,000. No matter what online sportsbook you investigate, you will have a hard time finding a better welcome bonus than this. You basically have a free shot of winning your first bet, with full knowledge that you are covered by the site if you don’t pick correctly.

DraftKings vs FanDuel – sportsbook quality – DraftKings wins

DraftKings – 5/5

This one was a super close contest, but we’ve decided to give DraftKings the top mark since the sportsbook is just sensational. Both sites have adequate odds, sports, and markets, but DraftKings has a couple of extra factors to push it above FanDuel. These factors include regular boosted odds, exclusive markets for prime events, and punters can even bet in pools through the relevant section. This is pretty cool to say the least!

FanDuel – 4/5

FanDuel has an excellent design for its sportsbook, but one of the main reasons that we’ve marked them below DraftKings is because there aren’t as many filters to find desired markets quickly. To add to that, when we investigated odds for games in the NBA and NHL, they weren’t quite as good as DraftKings on the whole.

DraftKings Sportsbook vs FanDuel Sportsbook – ongoing bonuses – FanDuel wins

DraftKings – 3/5

After looking through the sportsbook bonuses that DraftKings creates regularly, we didn’t quite feel that they provide a ton of value for current members. Although they have a few ongoing promotions such as the refer-a-friend bonus and the chance of boosted odds for football games, there isn’t the promise of free bets on a weekly basis like FanDuel has.

FanDuel – 5/5

In contrast to DraftKings, FanDuel is fairly dedicated to providing existing customers with a barrage of bonuses. As you can see in the promotions section, there are parlay insurance incentives for all kinds of sports, and as seen with the ‘play-action’ bonus, you can enjoy live pick competitions for NFL games all season long. All in all, we feel this is a much better selection.

Extra features comparison

User Experience – DraftKings wins

DraftKings – 5/5

While both platforms have pretty appealing aesthetics, it is DraftKings where things are really turned up a notch. The sportsbook is highly interactive, and we love that there are flash promotions on the page along with filters like pools, VIP, and more. It’s also quite cool that DraftKings lists the various leagues on the left-hand side of the sportsbook too, which allows for better navigation.

FanDuel – 4/5

Despite the fact that we’ve awarded DraftKings with the win in this category, we must say that FanDuel also has a fantastic site. The layout of the sportsbook is user friendly, with clear links to the relevant sporting markets, and there’s even a betting guide for beginners to access. The only thing is that they don’t have quite as many filters as DraftKings, which means it can take a bit longer to find your way around.

In-play Betting – DraftKings wins

DraftKings – 5/5

Whenever you log-in to your DraftKings account, whether it’s in the middle of the day or night, there will always be some live markets. Most of the time, you can find a bunch of live markets for sports like basketball, tennis, and soccer, and DraftKings will always show you the number of games that are in play. Keeping in tune with the other areas of the sportsbook, you can also filter the markets according to your desired sports, which FanDuel doesn’t really have.

FanDuel – 4/5

FanDuel does have a good range of live markets, but there is just the one page where you need to then scroll through all of the sports rather than jumping to any specific one. This makes it a longer and more frustrating process to make live bets, even if the odds and the markets are still pretty good.

Live Stream – FanDuel wins

DraftKings – 3/5

Live streaming is still a feature that is fairly new with DraftKings, and as you will find out, the number of events you can stream isn’t huge. You also need to be logged in to see what events you can view, rather than just check at a glance. Right now, there are events for sports like tennis and soccer that you can stream, but this feature is still in the early stages.

FanDuel – 4/5

FanDuel is no stranger to streaming, and this feature has been on the site for much longer than DraftKings. Once you head into the live betting section, you will notice that there is a small play link for plenty of events, which is again different from DraftKings. When you do initiate a stream, the quality is fairly impressive too.

Mobile Application – DraftKings wins

DraftKings – 5/5

The mobile app that DraftKings has for sports betting is rapid, powerful, and visually pleasing too. From the app, it is super easy to check out both pre-game and live markets, and thanks to the menu layouts, you can navigate to any section with no trouble at all. The app feels quite spacious too, despite the fact that all of the features from the desktop site have been implemented.

FanDuel – 4/5

FanDuel also has a top-notch app, but in our experience, we didn’t feel that the app was quite as easy to navigate around. To add to that, it didn’t seem quite as responsive either, as there were long waiting times for pages to load and for bets to be accepted. It isn’t all bad, however, for you can still stream sports on the app and unlock all of the promotions.

Cash-out – FanDuel wins

DraftKings – 4/5

Being able to cash-out your bets is nothing new for DraftKings customers, yet the number of markets where this feature is supported is not as extensive as with FanDuel. To add to that, when you compare the cash-out incentives for the same bets that have been placed, FanDuel generally offers a higher cash-out offer than DraftKings.

FanDuel – 5/5

As stressed above, FanDuel is very willing to provide cash-out incentives for bets including parlays, moneyline, handicaps, and live wagers too. This is a better range than DraftKings, and it means that punters at FanDuel have a bit more control over their wagers. You can cash-out your bets with just one touch of the button, and over time, since FanDuel tends to give higher cash-out rewards, you will get better value for this feature with FanDuel.

Conclusion – DraftKings wins by a whisker

Although we believe that DraftKings has a slightly better platform overall, it’s not like either site is disappointing in the slightest. Both of these brands are absolute powerhouses of the USA betting market, and both are worth signing up with. If you did decide to do that, you are setting yourself up for $2,000 in welcome rewards too, which is pretty significant. And as you can see through this review, each site has its own strengths and weaknesses.

But some of the main reasons that we would favor DraftKings here is that their mobile app is phenomenal, the navigation menus are great, and it’s a sportsbook that just gives good value across the board for its members. Of course, DraftKings still needs to make improvements in the ongoing bonuses and the streaming department, but this is where you could kill two birds with one stone and register with both sites. While this is entirely up to you, it’s something to think about if you want the very best online betting experience.

And to finish this review, just keep in mind that you must be over the age of 21 and based in a state where these brands operate. These details will be verified by each site too, so just be prepared for that when registering.
