Walsall to Win
Despite languishing near the wrong end of the League Two standings, Walsall have been stringing some excellent results together at home of late where they have taken seven points from the last nine and won each of their last two assignments. Bristol Rovers meanwhile, have been one of the division’s worst-performing away teams this term and their record of three defeats in four on the road means they are worth opposing again on Saturday.
Both Teams to Score
Though their results away from home have been subpar, Bristol Rovers have at least retained a measure of threat in the final third, indeed, both teams have scored in three of their first four League Two fixtures on the road since the summer. Lapses in concentration at the back have been cancelling out their good work further up the pitch and that same combination should produce goals at both ends again when The Pirates visit the Banks’s Stadium.
George Miller to Score Anytime
George Miller finally got up and running for the season in Walsall’s last home match, netting two of The Saddlers’ three goals in their win against Mansfield. The former Barnsley forward should wield plenty of confidence this weekend following his brace and Miller looks a great choice in the anytime goalscorer stakes as a result.
Walsall vs Bristol Rovers: Match Preview
Walsall Team News
Conor Wilkinson and Rory Holden are expected to be absent from Walsall's ranks this weekend, while captain Joss Labadie still has one more game to sit out of his three-match suspension. The Saddlers were narrowly beaten at Newport last time out, though they had won three out of four matches before that in league and cup.
Bristol Rovers Team News
Leon Clarke, Sam Nicholson, Alex Rodman and Trevor Clarke are all in the treatment room and likely to miss Saturday's game. There are also doubts over the fitness of keeper Anssi Jaakkola and midfielder Luke Thomas. Only Salford have a worse record on the road in League Two this term than Bristol Rovers.
