Nottingham Forest vs West Ham: Top free betting tips
Nottingham Forest are set to play West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday, 17 February with both teams needing a result for different reasons. Nottingham Forest are very much in the relegation battle now after a string of bad results while West Ham need something to stay in the race for European football. Which side will pick up an invaluable three points? Check out our Nottingham Forest vs West Ham prediction below.
Match result prediction: Nottingham Forest to win
Although both sides are in poor form, Nottingham Forest have been showing more signs of fight than West Ham. Forest were unlucky not to take anything from Newcastle last time out in a hard-fought 3-2 loss while West Ham suffered a humiliating 6-0 defeat to Arsenal in front of their home supporters. While there is always a chance that West Ham come back with a point to prove here, Forest appear to have more about them at present.
Total goals prediction: Over 2.5 goals
West Ham are currently in the middle of a seven-match stretch without a victory in all competitions and in those seven matches, they have conceded goals far too easily. In total, they have conceded 14 goals while Nottingham Forest have scored 17 goals in their last ten matches so should be able to capitalise on the Hammer's leaky defence. Forest's defence isn't much better, though, with Nuno Espirito Santo's side conceding 12 goals in their last seven matches.
Correct score prediction: Nottingham Forest 2-1 West Ham
We aren't expecting West Ham to suffer another humiliating defeat at the City Ground on Saturday but we do think they'll go back to London with nothing. Forest's injury list has been cut down dramatically in recent weeks and with their passionate supporters behind them, we expect they'll get the points they need.
Nottingham Forest vs West Ham team news
Nottingham Forest predicted lineup vs West Ham
After losing six players to the Africa Cup of Nations at the beginning of January, Nottingham Forest finally have them all back (with the exception of Serge Aurier who completed a transfer to Galatasaray at the end of January). The final players to return were Ola Aina, Ibrahim Sangare and Willy Boly who all competed in the final but Santo has said none of them will be available for the match with West Ham. Other absentees for Forest are Chris Wood and Gonzalo Montiel who are both injured.
Sels – Williams, Niakhaté, Murillo, Tavares, Murillo – Yates, Domínguez – Gibbs-White Hudson-Odoi, Elanga – Awoniyi
West Ham predicted lineup vs Nottingham Forest
David Moyes is probably considering changing all eleven players after he saw his team get battered 6-0 at the weekend but a few of them will likely survive. In a potential double boost, Michail Antonio and Lucas Paqueta are both on the verge of being fit again and could at least make the bench for the trip to Nottingham on Saturday. Aaron Creswell and Kalvin Phillips will surely start this one while Mavropanos may feel like he deserves a start.
Areola – Coufal, Zouma, Mavropanos, Cresswell – Phillips, Alvarez – Bowen, Paqueta, Kudus – Antonio
