England will face Senegal in another 1/8 final from the 2022 edition of the World Cup.

England vs Senegal – World Cup Predictions 2022

Senegal were incredible during the group stage and will be a real problem in this match for England. Here are our predictions.

England - Senegal

Both Teams To Score Prediction: Yes

Even without Sadio Mane, Senegal have an incredible squad made of players that perform in top leagues in Europe. They have shown their qualities in attack and scored 3 times against Qatar and twice against Ecuador. England had an easy group and we do not think that they were challenged too much in those games. Senegal will be a bigger issue and we expect both teams to score goals.

Match Result Prediction: Draw

We are going against the expectations here but we already saw how favorites lose against significantly smaller nations. And Senegal are not Japan – their squad is much stronger and we think that they have a much bigger chance than the odds suggest. England will control most of the game but Senegal could potentially reach the draw here.

Correct Score Prediction: 1:1 Draw

We do not expect a huge scoreline in this match. While both teams scored a lot in the group stage, the feeling of the 1/8 final is different and we expect the two teams to be more careful in their performance. We expect to see one goal per team and a potential draw.

England vs Senegal 2022 World Cup Fixture Preview

England Preview

England came to the tournament as one of the main contenders to win it and until now, they have proven that it could be possible. They won the group without losing a match and scored 9 goals in 3 games. In all fairness, England were not as convincing as we expected them to be in this particular group, so Senegal will be a real challenge.

Senegal Preview

Senegal had a far more difficult group with the Netherlands and Ecuador but they came through with two wins and sealed a spot in the 1/8 finals. This alone is already a success for the national team and imagine if they take out England. We already saw it happen with big contenders and Senegal are a serious team right now. The problem is the defense – they concede a lot of goals even though they also score more.
