The Anoeta Stadium today is significantly different compared to when it was constructed in 1993. This spacious ground for Real Sociedad was heavily criticised for being too expansive without enough opportunities to build an atmosphere. As a result, renovation works resulted in the stands coming closer to the pitch with the addition of new seats in 2019. Now, the Anoeta Stadium has a continuous set of seats similar to many European grounds.
What is it like for visiting supporters?
The away fans will go into the Fondo Norte, which is the northern section of the ground. It can be reached through Gate 9. The views from this stand may not be the best around. Similarly, there is not too much protection from the elements. Before the matches, away fans may not have many opportunities to hang out in the area, which is located in a quiet part of the town. Still, there are some noteworthy pubs and bars nearby.
The stadium can be reached by using the GI-20 – irrespective of coming in from the west or east directions. The exit 7 will take the vehicle to the San Sebastian area, where there are numerous signs for the Anoeta Stadium. Even if these simple directions to the Real Sociedad ground are complex, then one can simply input the following address in the satnav:
Anoeta Pasealekua 1, 20014 San Sebastián
The lack of many car parking spots is one of the disadvantages of this Real Sociedad stadium. One of the best ways to overcome this issue is through street parking. For this reason, it is advisable to come to the game well ahead of schedule so as to avoid any last-minute hiccups.
By train or metro
Euskotren Trena offers InterCity trains in the Basque region of Spain. The connectivity offered to watch Real Sociedad is excellent. For someone who is using the train, the Anoeta Station is the one to lookout for. If heading through the Metro Donostialdea, this will be the closest station. The bus connectivity is also excellent in the area. One has to look good for buses 21, B9, and 43 to head to the ground.
Real Sociedad provides the option of purchasing tickets through different means. One can head over to the ground and pick up tickets directly or they can do the same process online. The increase in capacity following the renovation in 2019 means that it is relatively easy to get tickets for the game. The priority is undoubtedly for the season ticket holder. In terms of prices, Real Sociedad have made sure that the tickets are affordable while still not compromising on the hospitality side of things.
The regular tickets can be picked up from a price range of as low as €30 to even €70. The hospitality tickets will cost substantially more. The North and South stands tend to have the cheapest tickets, while the upper section of the main grandstand tickets are the most expensive. The price of tickets would increase based on the opposition.

The renovation works done in 2019 have brought a number of features friendly to disabled fans. This includes easy access to the stadium from the parking, while some wheelchair spaces are also on offer. The tickets for the disabled can also be picked up at the ticket counter or online.
Real Sociedad conduct tours of the stadium on most days of the week. Following the club’s centenary, a museum was also constructed to showcase the achievements. Those who are availing the stadium tour will also get a chance to explore the museum. The access is provided from Tuesday to Saturday. There are times from 11 AM to 6 PM during these days. The cost of a stadium tour is only around €6.
