Manchester United fan travels in style ahead of Chelsea clash

Beer is a huge part of away day culture and one Manchester United fan proved that once again after ensuring he had plenty of alcohol for the long journey down to West London from Manchester.

The match was not due to kick off until 8:15pm, but that doesn't mean supporters were waiting until that time to get the party atmosphere started – they will now just be hoping that the Red Devils don't spoil the mood this evening.

Guinness at the ready

Beer and away days go hand in hand, we all know as much, and that is why our stadium guides always include information on the best local pubs for travelling supporters. Perhaps the most notorious beer of them all is Guinness, with its admirers proving to be very difficult to please.

However, one Manchester United fan appeared to buck that trend, pictured on a train enjoying an impressive Guinness Nitrosurge –  a device which breaks down the nitrogen in the beverage, designed to provide a perfect two-part with every use.

It certainly seemed to be doing the job, and the Manchester United fan in question will likely be in good spirits by the time kick-off arrives.

How long those good spirits last will largely depend on his side's performance in what is a huge game for both teams.

Despite their struggles on the pitch this season, the Blues are unbeaten in their last five Premier League games and will be looking to secure a statement victory in this match. Whereas, Erik ten Hag's United are fresh from a terrible display against Brentford and were fortunate to escape with a point from that fixture.

Guinness has done its job, now it's time for the Red Devils to do its part and get the three points.
