Rose Bowl Stadium is regarded as one of the most iconic pitches in the United States. The venue is located in Pasadena, California and boasts a massive capacity of 89,000. Of this, away fans occupy a designated area behind one of the goals, either in the south or the north, depending on matchday arrangements.
In Los Angeles football derbies, such as the clash between LA Galaxy and LAFC, supporters of both teams usually split the venue in half, which is unlike what we see in the Premier League or other top European football leagues.
LAFC zone is usually in the North End when they visit the Rose Bowl.
However, in less intense local encounters, away fans are usually allocated a smaller block inside Rose Bowl, in one corner or end-zone seating behind the goal line. For easy access and control, there are separate entrances and exits for away fans.
Controversially, the Rose Bowl wasn’t selected as one of the host stadiums for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Instead, the Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles has been selected.
The Rose Bowl is a multi-functional sports stadium in Los Angeles that has a capacity of 89,702. The stadium has played host to various sports teams over the years, including the LA Galaxy, and is currently the home of the UCLA Bruins, a college American Football team.
The stadium is the eleventh largest in the USA and opened all the way back in 2022. Its design, as the name suggests, is like a giant bowl and is best known for hosting the annual Rose Bowl Game. It has also played host to five Super Bowl games over the years.
In terms of football, the stadium was the host of the 1994 world Cup final, the 1999 Women’s World Cup final and is frequently used by the USA national team.
The Rose Bowl stadium map and seating plan is as follows:

The stadium looks hugely impressive from the inside, with the entire stadium effectively being one single-tiered grandstand that wraps around the entire pitch. It makes it difficult to see where one stand ends and the next one begins, which is a cool spectacle.
One downside to the Rose Bowl is that the stands aren’t steep at all, which can make those situated at the back of the stadium feel disconnected from the action on the pitch.
The Rose Bowl Stadium is located in Pasadena, Los Angeles. This is the largest city in Los Angeles, so you won’t be short of options for bars before attending a match at the stadium. Three popular options include:
- Congregation Brewery – 300 S Raymond Ave, Pasadena, CA 91105, United States
- The Tap Room – 1401 S Oak Knoll Ave, Pasadena, CA 91106, United States
- Lucky Baldwins – 17 S Raymond Ave, Pasadena, CA 91105, United States
Food and drink at Rose Bowl Stadium reflect both the scale of the venue and the cultural diversity of Southern California. As one of the largest stadiums in the United States, the Rose Bowl offers a wide variety of concessions to serve the tens of thousands of fans on matchdays.
Visitors can expect the traditional stadium fare such as hot dogs, nachos, burgers and pretzels, alongside more regional flavours that highlight Los Angeles’s culinary mix, including tacos, speciality sandwiches and barbecue.
Beverage options at Rose Bowl range from bottled water and soft drinks to craft beers, with several stands and kiosks located throughout the concourses to minimise wait time.
For major events such as the El Trafico derby or the annual Rose Bowl Game, additional food trucks and temporary bars are often brought in, expanding the selection to include gourmet snacks and international street food.
