Children’s Mercy Park offers a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for away fans. Sections 122 and 123, located at the southwest end of the venue, are the designated seating locations for away fans.
Sporting Kansas City fans are generally welcoming to away fans, provided they are respectful. With that, fans of visiting teams are prohibited from wearing their team’s colours in sections S1-S9 and also in sections 115-121 to maintain the home team’s atmosphere.
Sporting Kansas City fans, especially those who occupy the South Stand and the Cauldron, are known to be a passionate support base, often heard chanting on matchdays.
With that, here are some popular Sporting Kansas City chants.
- No Other Club
- Ain’t Nobody Gonna Stop Us Now
- We Love you Sporting
- Bar-B-Q
- Come on Sporting Score a Goal
Sporting Kansas City tifos are a bold display of creativity and passion. Before kick-off, fans in the Cauldron section unfurl massive banners that fill the stands with colour and energy.
Each tifo tells a story, some celebrate club legends, others mock rivals, and many reflect the city’s pride and unity. They are designed and painted by supporters, often taking weeks of planning and late-night work to perfect.
When raised on matchday, they send the tone for the entire stadium.
These tifos have become a defining feature of Kansas City’s matchday atmosphere. They show how deeply fans connect with the team, transforming soccer into something larger than the game itself.

Sporting KC boast their very own sports bar, gaming parlour and social lounge in downtown Kansas City’s Power & Light District, called No Other Pub. Food and drinks are available at this club-specific bar, which is located at 1370 Grand Blvd.
Given Children’s Mercy Park’s proximity to Kansas Speedway, there are numerous restaurants and fast-food outlets nearby, including LongHorn Steakhouse, Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que, Olive Garden Italian, and Dave & Buster’s, among many others.
Food and drink at Children’s Mercy Park are provided by KC American Sportservice as the official concessionaire.
Food from outside the stadium is not allowed at Children’s Mercy Park, except for infants aged two years or younger. Everything can be purchased from the main food stand bar in the Cauldron, with popular food items such as chicken, hot dogs, nachos and burgers available.
You can also find food near the concourse, as well as near sections 101 and 132.

The fallout from the 2008/09 financial crisis saw the project for the new stadium in Kansas postponed, and after much deliberation, construction finally began in 2009. It can be found next to Kansas Speedway, and is the home of Major League Soccer franchise Sporting Kansas City. It is the club’s third home venue, having previously played at Arrowhead Stadium and CommunityAmerica Ballpark from 1996 to 2007, and from 2008 to 2010, respectively.
Lance Armstrong’s Livestrong Foundation held the naming rights to the stadium between 2011 and 2013, before Children’s Mercy Hospital acquired the rights in a ten-year partnership in 2015.
Sporting KC opened the stadium in June 2011 with a goalless draw against the Chicago Fire in the MLS. It has gone on to host the United States men’s national team, MLS Cup and MLS All-Star Game, all of which happened in 2013, becoming the only stadium to host all three in the same year.
Tours of Children’s Mercy Park allow guests to explore the lounge in the locker room, the Premium Tower, the press box, and the pitch, among many other areas. Prices are $15 for adults, $12 for children, $12 for seniors, and $10 for groups of ten or more.
Sporting Kansas City’s fiercest rivals are St. Louis City SC, a clash fueled by geography and pride. The two clubs sit on opposite ends of Missouri, turning every meeting into a ‘Show-Me State’ showdown.
Their rivalry, known as the Heartland Derby, goes beyond success; it is a contest for bragging rights between two cities with distinct cultures and loyal fan bases.
St Louis brings a historic soccer heritage, while Kansas City represents a modern, energetic style that has defined the MLS club for years.
Beyond St. Louis, Sporting Kansas City also shares intense encounters with regional opponents like the Chicago Fire and FC Dallas. These matchups often carry extra emotion, shaped by past playoff battles and competitive spirit.
Whether at Children’s Mercy Park or on the road, Sporting Kansas fans turn every game into a statement of pride. These rivalries may vary in intensity, but all reflect the club’s deep roots in Midwestern soccer and their determination to defend its territory.
SeatGeek is the official provider of the club’s tickets. Single match tickets, premium tickets, group tickets and vouchers can all be found here.
