BMO Field is a sports stadium located in Toronto, Canada, that opened in 2007. Originally, it was built specifically to be a football stadium for Toronto FC in Major League Soccer (MLS), but it has since been renovated to make it usable as an American Football stadium for the Toronto Argonauts.

The stadium is nice and compact and isn’t an all-singing, all-dancing arena like many of the other new builds that have gone up in the USA and Canada since the turn of the century.

The relatively small nature of the stadium makes it fan-friendly – all seats in the stadium are close to the pitch, and there are no restricted views. Additionally, the acoustics inside the place are excellent, which helps boost the atmosphere.

Away fans are generally very complimentary about the stadium. These supporters are put in section 2018 in the upper tier of the east stand, which is at one end of BMO Field.

The stadium is easy to get to, and the facilities in and around it are more than adequate.

BMO Field will play host to six matches during the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. These matches are as follows:

  • 12 June: Group Stage match
  • 17 June: Group Stage match
  • 20 June: Group Stage match
  • 23 June: Group Stage match
  • 26 July: Group Stage match
  • 2 July: Round of 32 match

The stadium isn’t the most glamorous in the USA, but there have still been plenty of celebrity sightings here, particularly when Lionel Messi is in town with his Inter Miami teammates. Some of the most famous people to be spotted at BMO Field include:

  • Leonardo DiCaprio
  • Gerard Butler
  • Owen Wilson
  • Selena Gomez
  • Prince Harry

The following are some of the popular Toronto F.C. that fans of the club often sing in both home and away matches.

  • We Love You chant
  • Oh, When the Reds
  • Hey TFC
  • When I was A Boy
  • Oh Toronto

Located throughout BMO Field are a number of food and drink outlets. Real Sports at the Game can be found at the top of section 106, and King Club at the top of section 107.

At sections 108, 123 and 207 is Panini, with Pizza Pizza available at sections 108, 109, 115, 121, 127 and 209. Fan Favourites, meanwhile, can be found at sections 108, 115, 127 and 204.

Located at Exhibition Place in Toronto, BMO Field is Canada’s first-ever football-specific stadium and is home to the country’s first MLS club, Toronto FC. It also plays host to the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League, as well as staging music concerts. It cost $62.9m to build, and was funded by a public partnership between Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. and three levels of government. The naming rights are owned by the Bank of Montreal, commonly branded as BMO.

Since opening in 2007, BMO Field has hosted several major events, the first of which was the 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup. It has also become the home venue for Canada’s national rugby team, as well as hosting various lacrosse and hockey matches.

Tickets at BMO Field can be a little pricey, depending on where you sit or the match you attend.

However, for general admission, fans can pay as low as $3. Premium seats in the stadium, usually located near the pitch and behind the goal, can cost as much as $900.

For international tournaments, tickets at BMO Field often exceed the average of $36, as they can be as high as $50 for a single ticket in the general admission category.

It is worth mentioning that BMO Field is one of the US stadiums for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a tournament whose tickets will be higher compared to regular MLS matches.

Unfortunately, BMO Field is not among those hosting Club World Cup matches, so for ticketing information, check our comprehensive guide for the 2025 event.
