The ground features a running track around the pitch, meaning spectators are set back from the action regardless of where they stand or sit. As a result, there aren’t many truly outstanding viewing positions inside the stadium.
For segregated fixtures, away fans are usually accommodated in the Rom Valley Glass & Glazing Stand and the adjacent partially covered terrace at the Windmill End of the ground.
When segregation is not required, supporters can often move more freely around the stadium.
Facilities are basic but functional, and the atmosphere is usually friendly. With Hornchurch now competing at a higher level, away followings are increasing, and larger fixtures are beginning to generate stronger crowds and improved atmospheres.
Promotion to the National League has now triggered major redevelopment plans at the stadium.
Riverside Stand redevelopment
The existing Riverside Stand is set to be completely redeveloped and replaced with a new covered terrace, including a new television gantry to meet league requirements.
New away facilities
A dedicated away entrance will be constructed at the Windmill End of the stadium, alongside new catering and toilet facilities specifically for visiting supporters.
Additional seating planned
The Eastside terracing is expected to be demolished and replaced with seating accommodation.
Plans also include:
- Refurbishment or replacement of the directors’ box
- Installation of a new boardroom
- Upgraded supporter facilities
The club must meet National League Step One grading requirements by March 2027, following promotion.
Main Stand
The best views inside the ground are found in the Main Stand around the halfway line.
Its elevated seating provides the clearest perspective of the pitch and is the preferred location for neutral supporters.
Opposite Side
The opposite side of the ground contains:
- Rom Valley Glass & Glazing Stand
- Additional seated accommodation
- Covered terracing
This area is frequently allocated to away supporters during segregated matches.
Running Track
The running track means all spectators are positioned further from the action than at most modern football grounds.
Because of this, elevated seating is generally preferable to standing areas.

- The Windmill – Located directly opposite the away entrance on Abraham Court, this is the most convenient pre‑match pub for visiting supporters. It’s the go‑to option if you want a quick drink before heading straight into the ground.
- Upminster Town Centre – Around a 10–15 minute walk from the stadium, Upminster offers a wide selection of pubs, bars and restaurants suitable for away fans. The area includes a mix of traditional pubs and more modern venues, making it the preferred destination for many travelling supporters before kick‑off.
Hornchurch Stadium offers several bar areas for supporters on matchdays:
- The Clubhouse – The main social hub inside the stadium, open before and after games.
- Jimmy Mac Bar – Popular with home fans and usually the busiest spot on matchdays.
- Temper Gold Bar – Serves alcoholic and soft drinks in reusable eco‑cups (a £1 deposit is required).
- Burger Van – Classic matchday food (cash only).
- Snacks & Drinks – Hot and cold options available from kiosks around the ground.
For segregated fixtures, a dedicated away‑fan catering kiosk operates within the away section, ensuring visiting supporters have access to food and soft drinks without needing to leave their area.
Upminster Bridge and Upminster town centre both offer plenty of pre‑match dining options within easy walking distance of the stadium. You’ll find everything from quick takeaways to sit‑down restaurants.
Popular choices include:
- George’s Fish Bar (Upminster Bridge) – classic chippy, ideal for a quick pre‑match meal.
- Cinnamon Spice – well‑rated curry house in Upminster town centre.
- Osteria Due Amici – authentic Italian with pasta and pizza options.
- The Crumpled Horn – a large Greene King pub with a broad menu.
Most supporters choose to eat in Upminster town centre before heading to the ground, as it offers the widest range of options and is only a short walk from the stadium.

Hornchurch have seen steady attendance growth in recent years as the club has climbed the non‑league pyramid, regularly drawing some of the strongest crowds in their division, especially for derbies and promotion‑chasing fixtures.
While detailed historical attendance data is limited, the trend is clearly upward, and numbers are expected to rise further following promotion to the National League and the planned improvements to Hornchurch Stadium.
Disabled parking is available, but must be arranged in advance through the club.
The stadium is not among the most accessible grounds in the National League due to its layout and running track configuration.
Supporters with mobility requirements should contact the club before travelling to discuss suitable viewing positions and access arrangements.
Recent redevelopment plans are expected to improve accessibility facilities in the coming seasons.
