The viewing experience of away supporters will depend on whether the segregation is implemented between home and away fans.
If there is no segregation in place, away fans will be free to purchase a seated or standing ticket. Those who go for the standing option will have the freedom to watch the match from anywhere inside the stadium.
Meanwhile, away teams will provide guidance to their supporters if their fixture is selected for segregation.
In regards to the ground itself, there are three sides to Rossett Park, including a covered stand behind one of the goals. The rest of the small and intimate ground is made up of uncovered terracing.

Tribute to the club’s longest-serving manager
In December 2025, Marine AFC paid tribute to its late manager Roly Howard, who achieved a world record with his 33-year stint in the dugout from August 1972 to April 2005.
Members of Howard’s family were invited as guests of honour for the meeting with Spennymoor, which was also attended by former players of Marine AFC.
Plans for new stadium
Back in February 2025, the club announced plans to build a new £8m stadium. The club have seen its average attendances grow in the past five years and wants to build a ground that can accommodate that demand. The aim is to increase the club’s capacity to 5,000 to “safeguard the club for the next 100 years”.
Marine have welcomed some notable names to their stadium over the years. Here are a couple of famous faces who visited Rossett Park:
Jamie Carragher

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has been a regular attendee at Marine over the years. Through his charity, the JC23 foundation, Carragher stepped in to sponsor the dugouts and pre-match warm-up tops for the memorable FA Cup tie against Tottenham Hotspur in January 2021.
Jose Mourinho

While he may not be a fan, Marine will certainly cherish the time they got to welcome managerial great Jose Mourinho to Rossett Park. Mourinho was in the dugout when Spurs eased to a 5-0 victory in the third-round tie against Marine in the 2020-21 competition.
The Secret Ukulele Band wrote and performed the ‘Mighty Marine’ anthem to mark the club’s run to the FA Cup third round in 2020-21.
The ground is characterised by its tight layout, with one side of the stadium backing onto a row of houses.
The Main Stand, sponsored by RWinvest, is situated at one end of the ground, offering a mix of standing and seated viewing points. The covered seating is best if you want to be sure you are protected from any inclement weather on matchday. There is more terracing at the far end of the ground, known as the Crosender Road End.
Fans can visit Marine FC’s very own 1894 Bar & Bistro, which is situated on the stadium’s premises. The establishment is open seven days a week and boasts an extensive food menu.
While the 1894 Bar & Bistro is your best bet on matchday, there are a number of other options in the local area, including:
- Marine Bar & Kitchen – 3-5 South Rd, Waterloo, Liverpool L22 5PE
- Blues Bar & Restaurant – 21 Moor Lane, Great Crosby, Liverpool, L23 2SE
- The Crosby Coop – 84 College Rd, Crosby, Liverpool L23 0RP
- The Cornerpost Micro Pub – 25 Bridge Rd, Brighton le Sands, Crosby, Liverpool L23 6SA
There are stadium bars behind the RW Invest Main Stand and at the Crosender Road End, with the catering provided by Pullman Jack’s, who offer a variety of food, including pies, pasties, hot dogs and chicken curry.
The full Pullman Jack’s menu can be found here.
We love the new Footy Scran creations and seeing delicacy unique to certain clubs but this is proper.

Crosby beach
Situated in Crosby, Rossett Park is just a short walk away from Crosby beach, which offers beautiful views if you manage to visit on a clear day.
The beach also includes the Another Place sculpture, which was created by British artist Anthony Gormley. The display, which was permanently installed in 2007, consists of cast iron figures of Gormley’s own body that are revealed or submerged depending on the tide.
Marine Lake
There is also a Marine Lake, where you can visit the Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre to take part in a number of watersport activities.
Rossett Park first opened in 1884 as a Rugby Union venue, ten years before Marine AFC was founded. The club moved into the ground in 1904 and played one of their most iconic games 45 years later when they hosted the Nigeria national team, who were touring the UK at the time. The tour game was watched by around 6,000 people, making it the ground’s record attendance to this day.
Marine FC have also enjoyed some memorable FA Cup outings at Rossett Park, including a 3-1 success over Barnsley in the first round of the 1975-76 competition, before playing out a 1-1 draw in round two against Hartlepool. Unfortunately for Marine, their cup journey ended with a heavy 6-3 loss in the replay at Victoria Park.
The biggest game in Marine history took place at Rossett Park in January 2021 when the club played host to Premier League heavyweights Tottenham Hotspur. The match featured the likes of Gareth Bale, Lucas Moura, Dele Alli and Joe Hart, with Spurs running out 5-0 winners following a Carlos Vinicius hat-trick.
While Marine have created many memories at Rossett Park, the stadium has also been the home for a number of other teams. AFC Liverpool and Bootle FC have called the ground their home, while Everton Women played here for 13 years before they left in 2013.
Marine currently share the ground with Skelmersdale United, who ply their trade in the Liverpool Premier League.
Sefton derby: Marine’s local rivals are Southport FC, with their respective stadiums separated by just under 14 miles. Meetings between the two sides are known as the Sefton derby, which has become a regular fixture since Marine’s promotion from the Northern Premier League Premier Division in 2023-24.
Marine took four points off Southport in the 2024-25 National League North season, playing out a goalless draw on their travels before winning 1-0 in the return fixture. They also got the better of their local rivals in their first meeting of the 2025-26 campaign, prevailing via 4-2 scoreline in an exciting affair at Rossett Park.
