Away supporters are housed in the Tribune Top Atlantique, with around 696 seats allocated.

It’s a relatively small corner section, enclosed and separated from home fans. Sightlines are decent thanks to the stadium’s compact design, but facilities are fairly basic compared to newer Ligue 1 grounds.

The atmosphere can feel intense, especially with Brest’s most vocal supporters located in the nearby Tribune Foucauld, so expect plenty of noise and a proper, old-school French football experience.

2024: Plans for a new stadium, Arkea Park, were officially approved. The new ground will have a similar capacity (around 15,000) but with modern facilities and improved accessibility.

This means Stade Francis-Le Blé is expected to remain in use until the new stadium is completed.

Brest supporters are known for their simple but effective chants, including: “Ici c’est Brest!”

The Tribune Foucauld leads most of the singing, often using rhythmic clapping and call-and-response chants typical of Ligue 1 ultra culture.

While not as elaborate as some of France’s bigger ultra groups, Brest supporters do produce occasional tifos and banners, particularly for big matches.

Displays are usually concentrated in the Tribune Foucauld and focus on club identity, local pride and anti-rival messaging. The compact nature of the stadium helps amplify their visual impact.

The Tribune Credit Mutuel-Arkea, the main stand at the venue, offers the best overall views, particularly if you are located near the top and on the half-way line, while the Tribune Foucauld is the place to be if you want to experience the best atmosphere alongside the Brest ultras.

Overall, the stadium is tight and compact, so most seats offer a good view of the pitch

Most away fans choose to drink near the harbour before heading to the ground, and some options might include:

  • Le Tour du Monde – waterfront bar with seafood and great atmosphere
  • Tara Inn – lively Irish pub with music and dancing
  • Greenwich Cafe – relaxed spot with views and cider

Inside the stadium, fans can expect food options which are typical of French football grounds, including hot snacks like burgers, fries, sandwiches, as well as soft drinks, alcohol and ice cream.

There are multiple concession kiosks located behind every stand, particularly the two longer ones on either side of the pitch, and queues are generally manageable.

As aforementioned, the best place to eat before heading to the stadium is going to be in the harbour, and here are some of the best options to consider:

  • Le Tour du Monde – great for moules-frites and seafood
  • Tara Inn – pub food and a lively atmosphere
  • Roadside Burger – an affordable and casual spot known for its speed and quality

Located near the seafront, a trip to Brest is one of the more unique visits in Ligue 1.

Some of the best nearby attractions include:

  • Brest Harbourfront – offers scenic views of ships, naval vessels, and the Château de Brest. It’s a lively area with promenades, cafés, and access to ferry rides across the bay.
  • Oceanopolis Aquarium – a large marine discovery centre featuring tropical, temperate, and polar zones with over seven species of sharks and thousands of sea creatures. It’s one of France’s leading aquariums and a must‑visit for families and nature enthusiasts.
  • Brest Naval Museum – explores France’s naval history and shipbuilding traditions. Exhibits include model ships, maritime art, and panoramic views of the harbour from the fortress walls.

The stadium opened in 1922 as Stade de l’Amoricaine.

It was renamed Stade Francis-Le Ble in 1982 after the former mayor of Brest.

Major redevelopment came in the 1980s following promotion to Ligue 1, increasing capacity significantly from around 1,800 to over 10,000.

Further expansion took place in 2010 with the construction of a new stand, bringing the capacity above 15,000.

Brest have two main rivals – En Avant Guingamp and FC Lorient.

These matches often bring added intensity and are among the biggest fixtures of the season, typically selling out the Stade Francis-Le Ble.
