A trip to the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium is often a brilliant one for visiting supporters, particularly those who come from across Europe to see their team play here.
The best bit about this stadium is the fact that it is located just a 20-minute walk away from the centre of Krakow, one of the best and most fun cities in Europe. As a result, away fans can enjoy all that the city has to offer right up until kick-off.
In terms of the stadium itself, it was opened over 70 years ago in 1953, but it was entirely rebuilt between 2003 and 2011, which has helped to modernise it and improve the general fan experience.
The current design of the stadium is an interesting one, as the aforementioned renovation project was far from a straightforward process. Plans were changed on several different occasions, with the stands behind each goal coming from plan one and the stands along the sides of the pitch coming from plan four.
Away fans are typically housed in one of the corners of the stadium. This wedge spans two tiers, and the view from here is excellent.
Wisła Krakow fans are a roudy bunch. Some of the chants you can expect to hear on a trip to the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium include:
- Wisla!
- Slask WKS
- Bo w Krakowie
Shakhtar Donetsk have played their home matches at the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium during their 2025/26 Europa Conference League campaign. Although the majority of their fanbase is located in Ukraine, these matches have also been played in front of a packed house of passionate supporters.
Wisla Krakow fans have produced their fair share of tifos over the years. Check some of them out below.

As mentioned earlier, the design of the stadium is rather unusual due to the fact that it was constructed on the back of several different designs. The two stands at either end are single-tiered, while the two stands that run along the sides of the pitch are two-tiered.
It is inside the two stands that run along the sides of the pitch where the best views of the action can be found. These are commonly known as the West and East Stands
Fans should try to buy tickets in either of these two stands as close to the halfway line as possible, either at the top of the lower tier or at the bottom of the upper tier.
The loudest Wisla Krakow and Shakhtar Donetsk fans can be found in North Stand behind one of the goals. This is where you are going to want to sit if you want to be in and amongst the atmosphere.
Seating plan

The stadium is located less than a mile from the centre of Krakow, so you will not be short of options when it comes to pubs before pre- and post-match. Three of our recommendations are as follows:
- House of Beer – Sw. Tomasza 35, 31-027 Krakow, Poland
- Eszeweria – Jozefa 9, 31-056 Krakow, Poland
- Mr Black – Szewska 21, 31-009 Krakow, Poland
Unless you are in one of the VIP areas, don’t expect much when it comes to food inside the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium. Light snacks are available, but for anything substantial, you are going to want to visit one of the local vendors outside the stadium.
Soft, hot and alcoholic drinks are served at the kiosks on the concourses, but for UEFA matches, no alcohol can be drunk in view of the pitch.
While Krakow is famous across Europe for its bars and pubs, the food here is generally excellent, too. Some of the best restaurants in Krakow include:
- Starka – Jozefa 14, 31-056 Kraków, Poland
- Sioux – Rynek Głowny 22, 31-008 Kraków, Poland
- Szalone Widelce – Szpitalna 40, 31-024 Kraków, Poland
By car
Head west towards Ul. Pilsudskiego and then continue straight onto al. Mickiewicza (the main ring road around the centre). Follow signs for Cichy Kacik / Blonia / Stadion Wisly and then turn left onto ul. Reymonta. The stadium will then appear on your right.
By public transport
The easiest way to get to the stadium from just about anywhere in the city centre is to simply walk. However, if you would rather get public transport, then take advantage of Krakow’s tram system. Trams 15 and 18 from the city centre go to Reymana, which is located right outside the stadium. Alternatively, buses 103, 139, 144, 159, 173 and 194 also take fans from the city centre to the stadium.
The Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium currently has a capacity of 33,130 seats, and this is entirely made up of seats. This hasn’t always been the case, though, as you would expect for a stadium originally built in 1953.
When it first opened, more than 40,000 fans could squeeze into the stadium as it was made up of terraces and standing areas. The record attendance came in September 1976 when Wisla Krakow played Celtic in the UEFA Cup in front of 45,000 supporters.
Safety regulations and several waves of redevelopment, including a full rebuild in the 2000s, have seen the stadium’s capacity gradually decrease to its current figure.
The Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium is the third stadium that Wisla Krakow have called home. During their formative years, the club played in a modest ground in Krakow, which was sadly destroyed during World War I. They moved into a second home in 1922, but it became unfit for purpose in the 1940s due to storm damage and the growing popularity of the club.
Wisla Krakow officially moved into the Henryk Reyman Municipal Stadium in 1953, but it looked completely different to what it does now. It was shaped like an oval and had an athletics track that wrapped around the pitch.
Shakhtar Donetsk have played their home European matches here since the 2025/26 season due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
