Capacity: 4,000
Address: The Sussex Transport Community Stadium, Woodside Road, Worthing, West Sussex
Phone: 01903 233444
Pitch Type: 3G
Last Update: June 3, 2026

Away fans can expect a welcoming non-league experience at Woodside Road.

Segregation arrangements vary depending on the fixture and competition, but visiting supporters are usually allocated designated standing or seated sections – the most used is along the main stand behind the dugouts. The recent addition of the North Stand and West Stand has improved facilities considerably and helped create a more enclosed atmosphere around the pitch.

The stadium remains compact, meaning supporters are never far from the action. With Worthing attracting larger crowds following their promotion to the National League, the atmosphere has become noticeably livelier in recent seasons.

Unlike many larger grounds, there remains a strong community feel, and away supporters are generally made welcome.

Recent years have seen major investment in the Sussex Transport Community Stadium.

New West Stand completed

During the 2023/24 season, Worthing completed construction of a new seated West Stand with a capacity of approximately 750 supporters.

New North Stand opens

The club followed this with the construction of a new 1,800-capacity North Stand during 2024, significantly increasing capacity and improving the matchday experience.

Record crowds following promotion

Worthing’s rise through the divisions has resulted in record attendances, culminating in a new stadium attendance record during the 2025/26 season.

The Sussex Transport Community Stadium now features four distinct sides.

West Stand

The best seats in the stadium can be found in the West Stand. Elevated and centrally positioned, it offers the clearest view of the pitch and tactical shape of the game.

North Stand

The North Stand is the largest structure in the ground and is quickly becoming the heart of the atmosphere. Supporters standing here generate most of the noise on matchdays.

East and South Sides

These areas consist largely of standing accommodation and offer good views due to the compact nature of the ground.

Because of the stadium’s size, there are very few restricted views anywhere inside the venue.

Closest to the Stadium

  • The Brooksteed Alehouse – Popular craft‑beer spot with a relaxed, welcoming feel.
  • The Charles Dickens – Large traditional pub, ideal for groups and pre‑match meet‑ups.

Worthing Town Centre

  • The Goose – A lively sports pub showing live football.
  • The Selden Arms – Award‑winning real‑ale pub with an excellent reputation.
  • The Warwick – Spacious, energetic town‑centre venue with plenty of room for larger crowds.

Food and drink facilities at the ground continue to improve.

Most catering is now operated under the Jim Jam’s brand, with many familiar staff remaining in place following recent changes.

Supporters can expect:

  • Burgers and hot food
  • Chips and snacks
  • Tea and coffee
  • Soft drinks
  • Alcoholic beverages

The club has stated it intends to continue developing the food and drink offering as attendance increases.

There are also bars inside the stadium serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Car Parking near Sussex Transport Community Stadium

There is minimal parking available on nearby streets, while an additional 80 parking spaces are available at the public car park behind the church in Queen Street (BN14 7BJ).

If parking there, then follow these directions to get to the ground: Exit the car park and turn right into Queen Street. Walk to the junction and turn left into South Farm Road. Continue over the mini-roundabout by Worthing High School. After approximately 200 yards, turn right into Bulkington Avenue. Take the second left into Woodside Road. The stadium will be visible on your right after around 75 yards.

Supporters parking in nearby residential streets are asked to do so respectfully and consider local residents.

By Train

Both Worthing and West Worthing railway stations are approximately ten minutes’ walk from the ground.

From Worthing station: Turn right and follow Cross Street alongside the railway line. Continue to the level crossing. Cross the railway and enter South Farm Road. Turn left into Pavilion Road. After around 300 metres, Woodside Road is on the right.

Regular train services operate to Worthing from Brighton, Portsmouth, Southampton and London Victoria.

Recent redevelopment has significantly increased the stadium’s size. Sussex Transport Community Stadium’s current capacity is now approximately 4,000.

North Stand – opened in 2024, and holds 1,800 fans.

West Stand – completed in 2023/24, and has 750 seats.

The remainder of the capacity is spread around the East and South sides of the ground.

If you’re spending a day in Worthing, there are several attractions nearby:

  • Worthing Pier – Classic Victorian pier with cafes, amusements and great sea views.
  • Worthing Beach – Pebble beach, around a 20–25 minute walk from the stadium.
  • Highdown Gardens – Beautiful, peaceful botanical gardens on the west side of town.
  • Connaught Theatre – A key local venue for films, theatre and live events.
  • Brooklands Park – Family‑friendly open space with play areas and walking paths.

Worthing FC originally played at People’s Party, now known as Homefield Park, before moving to Beach House Park in 1889.

In 1901, the club relocated to the Sports Ground on Woodside Road, where it remains today. The site itself dates back to 1892 when it was known as the Pavilion Road Sports Ground and occupied around thirteen acres.

A local benefactor, Mr Brazier, donated the land, while a Queen Anne-style pavilion gave Pavilion Road its name.

Over the following century, the ground evolved steadily, but the most significant changes have come during Worthing’s recent rise through the divisions, culminating in the construction of the new North and West Stands.

  • Bognor Regis Town – Worthing’s biggest rivalry is traditionally with fellow Sussex club Bognor Regis Town. Matches between the two are among the most anticipated fixtures of the season.
  • Horsham – A rivalry strengthened by geography and Horsham’s previous groundshare at Woodside Road.
  • Eastbourne Borough – Recent meetings have become increasingly competitive.
  • Lewes – Another Sussex fixture that regularly attracts strong interest from supporters.

  • 3,100 (1907–08)

Average Attendances

The Sussex Transport Community Stadium provides a clear and supportive setup for disabled supporters.

Accessible parking is limited and must be booked in advance, with a Blue Badge required and displayed on matchday. Fans can enter via the East‑side turnstiles or the new North‑East corner entrance, both suitable for wheelchair users. A dedicated accessible viewing area sits directly in front of the Main (South) Stand, and only Assistance, Service, or Guide Dogs are permitted inside the ground.

There are two accessible toilets – one on the East Side behind the refreshment unit, and another in the new North/East toilet block. Both include grab rails, mounted flushing levers, and emergency assistance alarms, with the North/East facility offering a larger turning circle for easier manoeuvring.
