Arsenal supporters waiting for news about the club’s planned Champions League final screening at the Emirates Stadium have now been handed a significant update.
The event is expected to welcome around 37,000 supporters for the Gunners' showdown with Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest, giving thousands of fans without tickets the chance to watch the final surrounded by fellow Gunners.
Arsenal set to announce Emirates Stadium screening tickets for Champions League final
The latest update came from the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust (AST), which confirmed the club is currently awaiting final approval from the relevant authorities before tickets officially go on sale.
According to the AST, sales are expected to begin either later today (18th May) or tomorrow (19th May), with season ticket holders who were unsuccessful in securing tickets for Budapest set to receive first priority alongside Junior Gunners members. Silver members would then follow before any remaining allocation is offered to Red members.
The AST also confirmed the Emirates screening is expected to operate with a capacity of around 37,000 supporters.
In another important detail, fans were informed there will be no ticket transfer option available for the screening event, with supporters urged not to purchase tickets unless they are definitely able to attend themselves.
Demand is expected to be enormous given Arsenal are preparing for their first Champions League final since 2006, with many supporters unable to secure one of the limited UEFA allocations for the match in Hungary.
FGG says: This could become a special night even away from Budapest
For supporters unable to travel to the final itself, an Emirates Stadium screening still feels like a brilliant alternative and could become one of the biggest fan events the ground has ever hosted outside an actual matchday.
Watching a European Cup final surrounded by tens of thousands of fellow Gunners fans should create an incredible atmosphere, especially after the energy supporters generated before and during the Atletico Madrid semi‑final.
The decision to block ticket transfers is also understandable given the huge demand expected, with Arsenal keen to ensure the stadium is filled with genuine supporters rather than seeing tickets immediately diverted to resale platforms.
