Bruno Guimaraes has already received a first taste of the Emirates Stadium atmosphere after making his unofficial Arsenal debut against Como.

The Brazilian midfielder was introduced at half-time and did not have to wait long before supporters began singing his name.

Guimaraes came on at the start of the second half, replacing Max Dowman, as Mikel Arteta looked to give his new signing his first minutes in an Arsenal shirt.

The midfielder joined the Gunners from Newcastle United earlier this summer in a major deal, signing a long-term contract as Arteta continues to strengthen his squad.

When he warmed up for the first time, Arsenal fans quickly breaking into a simple “Bruno, Bruno” chant, which was repeated within minutes of him entering the pitch.

It is a chant that will sound familiar to Gunners supporters, having previously been used for Leandro Trossard. “Leo, Leo”.

Guimaraes was introduced with the score level at 1-1, after Myles Lewis-Skelly had opened the scoring before Martin Baturina equalised for Como.

The Brazilian's arrival provided Arteta with another option in midfield and gave supporters their first opportunity to see their new £75 million signing in action at the Emirates.

There is nothing particularly complicated about the chant, but that is probably what makes it work.

Guimaraes has barely kicked a ball for Arsenal and supporters are already embracing him.

If he can produce the performances expected of him, it certainly will not be long before the Brazilian has a proper Gunners chant of his own.
