Frustration is growing among Arsenal supporters after a late fixture change during a crucial stage of the season.

With the title race reaching its climax, fans have been left questioning the timing and impact of the decision.

Arsenal Supporters Trust issue statement after Burnley kick-off time is changed

The Arsenal Supporters' Trust has criticised the Premier League after Arsenal’s final home game against Burnley was moved to an 8:00pm Monday night kick-off at the Emirates Stadium.

In a statement, the group described the change as “disruptive”, highlighting the challenges it creates for supporters, particularly those travelling long distances or relying on public transport.

The rescheduling also impacts post-match traditions, with the club’s end-of-season lap of appreciation now expected to take place close to 10:00pm, making it far less accessible for families and younger fans.

While acknowledging the financial importance of broadcast deals, the Trust stressed that greater consideration must be given to match-going supporters, especially at such a late stage in the campaign when many fans will have already made travel plans.

FGG says: Not what Arsenal fans deserve this late in the season

It’s hard to argue with this.

Moving fixtures for TV purposes is nothing new in the modern game, but doing so this late, and for a match of this significance, feels unnecessary.

Many fans will have already booked trains, hotels and time off work well in advance, only to be left scrambling or now even out of pocket.

Yes, television drives huge revenue for the Premier League, but there has to be a balance. When scheduling decisions begin to actively work against the supporters who attend every week, it’s a big problem.
