How many England fans are going to Riga?
England have been given an official allocation of 2,546 tickets for the match against Latvia on Tuesday, 14 October. All of these tickets have been sold to supporters who have accumulated the most supporter caps in recent seasons.
It isn't inconceivable that more than 2,546 England fans will travel over to Riga for the match, though. The Latvian capital is one of the most popular cities in Europe when it comes to drinking culture, which certainly aligns with how England fans enjoy spending their time on away trips.
Where will England fans sit at the Daugava National Stadium?
The Daugava National Stadium is a unique stadium, in that it only has three stands. While it's not overly uncommon for smaller stadiums to be like this, what makes the Daugava National Stadium quite rare is that its open area is down one of the sides of the pitch rather than at one of the ends.
England fans will take up the entirety of one of the two ends but it will be quite difficult for them to make themselves heard. The stands at the stadium aren't connected to each other, which has an impact on the acoustics, while the running track that wraps around the pitch also doesn't help.
