Barcelona have reportedly asked UEFA to bring forward their Women's Champions League clash with Arsenal by 24 hours amid concerns that a general strike in Catalonia could disrupt the fixture.
The match is currently scheduled to take place Wednesday, November 11, at 18:45 local time at Spotify Camp Nou, but Barcelona are understood to have requested that it be played on Tuesday, November 10 instead.
Barcelona concerned over strike disruption
According to reports in the Spanish media, Barcelona have approached UEFA about changing the date because of a general strike called over housing affordability and wider cost-of-living concerns in Catalonia.
The industrial action is scheduled for November 11, raising concerns about potential disruption to transport and matchday operations in Barcelona.
However, UEFA have not made an official decision yet, meaning the original date remains the scheduled one as things stand.
A switch to Tuesday could also have consequences for Arsenal's domestic schedule, with the Gunners likely needing to rearrange their Women's Super League fixture against Liverpool.
That game is currently scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 8 and would probably need to be brought forward by 24 hours as well.

Arsenal's trip to Barcelona is a huge Champions League fixture, with both sides currently unbeaten in the league phase.
Arsenal memorably beat Barcelona 1-0 in the 2025 final, with Stina Blackstenius scoring the winning goal.
The previous time these two sides faced each other was in the group stage of the 2021-22 Champions League, with Barcelona thumping Arsenal 4-1 and 4-0 in their two meetings.
FGG Says: A real dilemma for UEFA
It is completely understandable why Barcelona have requested that the game be moved, but it is a real dilemma for UEFA as any changes will have a major effect on Arsenal's plans.
It remains to be seen what UEFA decide to do, but hopefully the game can go ahead without any issues for fans.
