Celtic have announced plans to merge the Bhoys ultra group into an area behind where the Green Brigade are based, a move that has been widely criticised by supporters and described by some as “upsetting everyone.”
The decision comes less than a month after a suspension affecting around 200 fans was lifted, following an initial six-game ban imposed for “violent and threatening behaviour” during a home match in late October.
That suspension was extended at the start of December before finally being lifted last month, making the timing of this latest development all the more surprising for many supporters.
Celtic are planning to combine the two Ultra areas inside Celtic Park
The plans emerged as part of a low-key announcement tied to season ticket renewals, with the club confirming their intention to relocate the Bhoys ultras group to the section currently occupied by the Green Brigade.
The move would see both ultra groups positioned together in the same area of the stadium, rather than remaining diagonally opposite each other as they have been in recent seasons.
The Bhoys were originally based at the back of the Jock Stein Stand before moving to the corner adjacent to the Main Stand a few years ago, and they are now set to be relocated once again ahead of next season.
It appears that no advance consultation was made with season tickets holders who will be impacted by the decision and the choices made by the club have left fans disappointed.
Celtic have since sent an email to affected supporters stating the decision was taken to meet “new safety and operational requirements.”
Many long-standing fans, some of whom have held the same seats for close to 30 years, have voiced their anger at being forced to relocate with little warning and without knowing where they will be moved until after renewing their tickets.
The move from the board has prompted fans to not renew, with many more expected to come in the following weeks.

FGG says: Better communication needed
With ongoing disputes with the fans and board this season, it is clear that better communication is needed with feelings already tense.
Fans who have been happily in the same seat for over 25 years should not have to move for reasons that do not concern them and find out in such a bad manner.
Had the club engaged with those affected before making the decision public, the reaction may have been far less negative and more supporters may have been willing to renew for next season.
