Contents
England have only been given an official allocation of 10,295 tickets for the Euro 2024 final in Berlin but far more than that will be heading to Berlin over the weekend. Early estimates suggest that there will be as many as 50,000 England fans in Berlin on matchday.
Over the past 24 hours, flights to Berlin from the UK went as high as £1000 per ticket and all flights are now sold out. Meanwhile, thousands of fans who are already in Germany will also make their way across to the German capital via trains and buses.
Best places to drink in Berlin
Luckily, Berlin is a city well-equipped to deal with large numbers of football fans. England fans won't be short of options when it comes to pubs and bars in the city. Three of the best watering holes in the city for football fans are:
- Kilkenny Irish Pub – Am Zwirngraben 17-20, 10178 Berlin, Germany
- Clash – Im Mehringhof, Gneisenaustraße 2A, 10961 Berlin, Germany
- The Castle Berlin Mitte – Invalidenstraße 129, 10115 Berlin, Germany
Where will England fans in Berlin sit at the Olympiastadion?
The official allocation of 10,295 England will be situated behind one of the goals at the Olympiastadion. Due to the running track that goes around the stadium, the view of the pitch from behind the goal isn't great and it will make fans feel like they are detached from the action.
However, given that this is the final of a major tournament, we doubt anyone will care too much about their view of the pitch!
Other England fans will be dotted around the stadium at different locations. The only part of the Olympiastadion where you won't find any England fans is the opposite end as that has been allocated to Spanish supporters.
Berlin fan zones for England fans
There are two fan zones in Berlin that England fans can't take advantage of in the build-up to the match. The Fan Zone Reichstag is open every day during Euro 2024 and on non-matchdays there is live music and DJ sets to keep fans entertained.
Fan Zone Brandeburger Tor is only worth visiting on match day. The public viewing gallery for the match is stunning and will likely be the preferred option for England fans who aren't able to get tickets for the match.
Both fan zones are free to enter and will serve food and drink throughout.
Getting to the Olympiastadion – a travel guide for England fans in Berlin
The easiest way to get to the Olympiastadion from the centre of the Berlin is to take either the U-Bahn or S-Bahn. The U2 line will take fans to the Olympia-Stadion station which is a short walk from the stadium while the S3 and S9 lines will take fans to the S Olympiastadion line which is even closer.
During Euro 2024, special S5 trains have been running but keep a close eye on announcements around these trains as not all S5 trains will stop at the stadium.
