The Euro 2024 semi-finals are upon us, and demand for tickets has gone through the proverbial roof.
And while tickets for the semi-finals sold out a long time ago via the UEFA ticket portal, there are still a couple of ways to get your hands on tickets for this stage of the competition.
If you are interested in semi-final tickets, then here is what you need to know to snag a couple.
Where to buy Euro 2024 tickets
The best of the best who have made it to the semi-finals and only France, Spain, England and the Netherlands remain in with a chance to claim the ultimate glory.
The semi-finals of the 2024 European Championship will undoubtedly attract attention and below is how you can get your semi-final tickets before the battle of the best begins in earnest on 9 July.
How to get Euro 2024 semi-final tickets
As mentioned earlier, the ballot for all Euro 2024 tickets, including the semi-finals, was completed months ago. However, UEFA has kept some tickets back for each knockout stage match. The tickets that have been held back are sold as soon as the previous round is completed.
The tickets that have been held back are ‘fans first' tickets, which are sold directly through individual football associations rather than UEFA itself.
For example, the ‘fans first' tickets will be sold directly through the French Football Association after Les Bleus qualified for the last four.
Each team competing in the semi-finals has been allocated 7,000 ‘fans first' tickets, and how these are sold will be down to each association. The vast majority of associations will look to ensure the tickets are distributed to fans who have attended the most matches in recent times to ensure fairness.
Euro 2024 semi-final prices
You will have to pay a little higher for the Euro 2024 semi-finals. For example, fans' first ticket will move from €60, currently charged for the quarter-finals, to €80. Category 3 ticket prices will increase to €195 from €100, paid in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals. And if you are booked in category 2, you will pay €400, which is double the amount paid in the quarter-finals.
For those booked in for category 1 ahead of the semi-finals, the price is €600, which is also double the amount paid for the same category in the quarter-finals. With that, you should also expect the ticket prices for the European Championship finals to increase.
Here is a summary of the ticket prices for the Euro 2024.
- Fans first: €80
- Category 3: €195
- Category 2: €400
- Category 1: €600
All category 1-3 tickets have been sold for the semi finals, which means only ‘fans first' tickets will be available as explained above.
Euro 2024 semi-final resale tickets
UEFA's resale platform reopened on 23 June for people to list unwanted tickets, allowing fans to snap up any last-minute returns.
It was heavily criticised back in May when thousands of supporters were kicked out of the online queue due to technical problems. So, if it does re-open for the last matches try and act as quickly as possible.
Euro 2024 semi-finals – alternative methods
Unfortunately, ‘legalised' ticket touting is still prominent online, so there will be plenty of third-party websites selling Euro 2024 semi-final and final tickets. Tickets through these websites will come at a cost far greater than face value, though.
One of the most reputable third-party ticket resale sites is StubHub. It is worth regularly checking their website once fixtures are confirmed for prices.
Note that the ticket prices on StubHub may vary significantly based on the semi-final venues and seat availability. Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund and Allianz Arena in Munich will host the Euro 2024 semi-finals.
Apart from StubHub, other reputable third-party Euro ticket resale platforms are Viagogo, Ticombo and SeatPick. Most importantly, you should compare the alternative platforms and settle on one that has the best Euro 2024 semi-final ticket deals.
Euro 2024 semi-finals
Euro 2024 has now reached the semi-final stage, following the quarter-final matches last week. England's penalty shootout victory against Switzerland secured a Wednesday evening match against the Netherlands, who narrowly beat Turkey. In the other semi-final, France will face Spain, who have won all five of their matches in the competition so far.
Two different Euro 2024 host stadiums will host semi-final matches at the tournament. The schedule is as follows:
9 July
- Spain vs France (Munich, 20:00 UK time)
Spain and France will meet in Munich for the first semi-final of Euro 2024. The last encounter between these teams was in 2021 for the UEFA Nations League final. France won this game 2-1 thanks to goals from Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe. A win for France would set up their second European Championships final in the last three editions of the tournament.
10 July
- Netherlands vs England (Dortmund, 20:00 UK time)
After finishing third in the group stage, the Netherlands are now only one win away from the Euro 2024 final. The last time they faced England was in the UEFA Nations League semi-final in 2019, which they won 3-1 after extra-time. A repeat result would extend England's long wait to win a major tournament for the first time since 1966.
