Euro 2024 train tickets
For supporters attending matches at Euro 2024, the “Fan Pass” is essential, granting free 36-hour access to public transport networks in the host cities across Germany. They are valid from 6am on the day of the match and expire at 6pm the next day.
It is important to check that you’re travelling within a valid network, otherwise, you can be fined 60 euros. On the UEFA website, they have provided a map of the relevant networks in the host cities. You can look at their advice on train travel using the following link: https://www.uefa.com/euro2024/event-guide/ticket-holders/#36-hour-travel-pass.
It is worth noting that long-distance services, such as ICE, IC, and EC are not included in the 36 Hour Travel Pass. If you are unsure about whether you are travelling within a transport area included in the Fan Pass, you can double check on the websites of the different transport networks, which are listed on the UEFA website.
Buy the ‘Deutschland-Ticket’ to travel from match-to-match
The best way to travel across Germany as a football fan for a sustained period of time this summer is to buy the “Deutschland-Ticket”.
This costs 49 euros per month and provides supporters with unlimited travel on every form of public transport, including buses, trams, trains, ferries, and underground routes. As noted above, this doesn’t include long-distance trains such as Intercity, ICE, and Eurocity.
You can buy this ticket on the Deutsche Bahn website using the following link: https://int.bahn.de/en/offers/regional/deutschland-ticket
It is worth noting that this ticket automatically renews at the end of each month, and if you wish to cancel the subscription, you must do so on the 10th of the previous month.

Euro 2024 train tickets advice for winners of Friday quarter-finals
The winners of Spain and Germany in Stuttgart will be rewarded with a semi-final tie in Munich. Buying a “DB Ticket Euro 2024” is the best way to travel between these two host cities for fans of the winning team.
Supporters can travel on both regional and high-speed trains using this. It costs 39.90 euros for first class and 29.90 euros for second class. This journey takes around two hours.
Meanwhile, the winners of the other semi-final between Portugal and France will travel to Munich from Hamburg. Using the same ticket, the Intercity-Express service takes around five and a half hours. It is worth booking this in advance, as there is limited availability on every train between the cities.
Euro 2024 train tickets advice for winners of Saturday quarter-finals
On Saturday, England play Switzerland and the Netherlands play Turkey, with the winners facing each other in Dortmund on 10 July. The winner of England’s game in Düsseldorf can take regional trains from the main station to Dortmund Hauptbahnhof. This will cost fans around £12 to £18 and usually takes just over an hour.
Netherlands play Turkey in Berlin, and the easiest way to get to Dortmund from here is again via the “DB Ticket Euro 2024”. You can book the Deustsche Bahn Intercity-Express and Flix Train to travel between the two cities, with the journey taking just over three and a half hours.
