Everton's tenure at the Hill Dickinson Stadium has not gone as well as many had hoped so far, with David Moyes' side struggling for form at their new home.

The Toffees have won just four of their 12 Premier League matches at the stadium so far and have picked up more points on the road than they have on Bramley-Moore Dock.

The disappointing form at the new stadium is the last thing that the club's hierarchy would have wanted, particularly as there was plenty of discussion prior to the move about whether the club's fans would be able to make their new state-of-the-art home as intimidating for visiting teams.

What won't help in this regard is in-fighting amongst match-going Everton fans. However, following their most recent match against Leeds, this is exactly what is transpiring, but not for reasons you might expect.

Everton fan group expresses ‘disappointment' at fellow supporters

Prior to the match against Leeds on Monday, 26 January, a series of giant Everton flags were on display around the stadium. These had been organised and created by the fan group, 1878, but it has since emerged that other Everton fans have stolen some of these flags after the full-time whistle.

In a statement, the fan group said:

“We are extremely disappointed that some fans took our flags home last night, removing them from the large wooden pole they are on and taking them with them. These were taken by grown men by the way, not kids.

“Some of our group saw this with our own eyes from the upper, so we were unable to get the flag back. These flags cost thousands of pounds to buy. For the 2x2m flags that some have taken home, they cost around £65 each to buy.

“This money has been donated by our brilliant, generous fans to enable us to buy these flags to put on displays. If you’d like to return them, then bring them to the United game and leave them on a seat.”

FGG says: The last thing Everton needs

Despite their poor home form this season, Everton are still in with a chance of qualifying for European football next season. If they are to achieve that, then they need their supporters to all be on the same page and fighting as one, rather than against each other.
