Everton have announced a special Father's Day event at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, giving supporters the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience alongside club legend Neville Southall.

The event, scheduled for Sunday, June 21, is part of the club's growing programme of stadium experiences designed to showcase Everton's new waterfront home beyond matchdays.

Since moving from Goodison Park, the Hill Dickinson Stadium has become a major attraction for supporters eager to explore one of English football's newest venues, and this latest offering adds one of the club's most iconic figures to the experience.

Everton are marketing the event as an “unforgettable” Father's Day celebration, with limited spaces available to ensure a more intimate atmosphere for attendees.

What can supporters expect from the event?

According to the Guide Liverpool, guests will be treated to an exclusive Legends Tour of the Hill Dickinson Stadium, hosted by Mark Higgins and Everton's specialist tour guides.

The experience will provide behind-the-scenes access to areas of the stadium not normally available on matchdays, allowing supporters to gain a unique perspective of the club's new home.

One of the standout attractions will be the opportunity to step onto the pitch itself, giving fans the chance to experience the stadium from a player's viewpoint.

Alongside the stadium tour, attendees will enjoy a live question-and-answer session with Southall, who remains one of the most celebrated players in Everton's history. Two separate sessions have been scheduled, running from 12pm to 3pm and 12.20pm to 3.20pm.

The package also includes a complimentary drink voucher, adding to what Everton hope will be a memorable family occasion.

Why is Neville Southall such a special guest?

Few players are held in higher regard among Everton supporters than Southall. The Welsh goalkeeper made more than 750 appearances for the club during a remarkable 17-year spell and played a key role in one of the most successful periods in Everton's history.

During his time at Goodison Park, Southall won two First Division titles, two FA Cups, the European Cup Winners' Cup and multiple Charity Shields, cementing his status as one of the greatest goalkeepers of his generation.

His stories and insights from that era are expected to be a major draw for supporters attending the event, particularly those who witnessed Everton's successes during the 1980s.

The event is priced at £55 for adults and £35 for juniors under the age of 12, while children under three can attend free of charge. With demand for stadium tours continuing to grow, Everton have advised supporters to book early.

FGG says: Smart use of Everton's greatest asset

Moving into a new stadium presents clubs with opportunities beyond football matches, and Everton are beginning to take full advantage of that. Combining access to the Hill Dickinson Stadium with one of the club's most beloved figures creates an experience that appeals to multiple generations of supporters.

For many fans, hearing stories from Southall while standing pitchside at Everton's new home could be every bit as memorable as a matchday itself. It's exactly the kind of event that helps build connections between the club's rich history and its future on the Liverpool waterfront.
