Everton new stadium ‘floods’ but Everton assure fans all is well

Everton's new stadium is quickly taking shape, but recent viral footage of it once again flooding has caused some concern among Everton fans.

Bramley-Moore Dock stadium is quickly taking shape, with it due to open for the 2025/26 season. However, the stadium is currently facing a battle against a new foe: North West England's rain.

Thanks to footage that emerged online, we've seen the Everton stadium battle against its most formidable foe yet, in the form of “flooding” from the still-in-construction roof.

As of this post, the video has been viewed well over 200,000 times, and many fans have quickly mocked Everton for the issues. The rain came after the Met Office issued a yellow rain warning for the Liverpool area, and the results were clear to see.

Everton respond to stadium issues

Everton were quick to point out that these issues will not surface when the stadium is finished, making it clear that the project is still under construction and has yet to be fitted with all the “siphonic drainage required” for a club at this level.

This isn't the first time the stadium has faced the wrath of the elements, either. Earlier this year, in fact, the stadium was hit by the elements, and Everton were keen to stress that no lasting damage was done to the stadium.

The stadium, which is set to cost over £700 million once it's completed, is almost complete, with winter weather not expected to cause any lasting damage to the new stadium.

Everton new stadium is progressing well

Regardless of the setback, the new stadium is making good progress. December is also a key month for Everton, as construction is set to be formally completed and the keys to the stadium officially handed over to the club.

The club also recently launched a “Club View” experience for fans, alongside the reveal of a 360-view stadium tour. The latter of which will be fully deployed in early 2025 to give Everton fans looking to secure season tickets the chance to see the view of the stadium from their desired seats. For now, it serves as a nice way to get a better look at the playing surface.

For now, it won't be long until Everton fans say goodbye to Goodison Park and hello to their brand-new stadium. As always, we'll have the latest updates as we get them.
