Everton’s stunning new home, the Hill Dickinson Stadium, has been crowned Project of the Year at the prestigious TheStadiumBusiness Design & Development Awards 2025, cementing the club’s place at the forefront of modern stadium innovation.

The accolade, received at the industry-leading awards ceremony in Manchester, saw the waterfront venue beat off competition from top facilities across Europe and further afield.

The award recognises the state-of-the-art design and execution of the 52,769-capacity ground on Liverpool’s Bramley-Moore Dock, which only opened for the 2025-26 Premier League season.

The stadium has already hosted high-profile events including international rugby and will stage fixtures at UEFA Euro 2028, thanks to its structure and infrastructure.

Evertonians were quick to celebrate the recognition, with club officials describing the honour as “immensely proud” and a testament to the collective effort behind the stadium’s delivery.

Judging panels at the summit, attended by leading architects, engineers and development leaders, praised the stadium’s contribution to fan experience, entertainment versatility and community impact.

The Project of the Year award adds to a growing list of accolades already won by the Hill Dickinson Stadium, which has been lauded for its forward-thinking design, spectator facilities and role in regenerating the surrounding area of North Liverpool.

Everton react with pride as international recognition arrives

Everton’s Director of New Stadium Development, Alix Waldron, expressed immense pride after the announcement, saying it was “a testament to our belief that this is a world-class venue”

She thanked the judging panel and all involved in bringing the project to life, emphasising how much the achievement means to the club and its supporters.

“We’re all immensely proud of Hill Dickinson Stadium and to see it recognised by industry experts is testament to our belief that this is a world-class venue,” she said, according to the club's website.

The Hill Dickinson Stadium has already been earmarked for high-profile events beyond Everton’s Premier League fixtures. It is set to host matches during UEFA Euro 2028 and is a candidate venue in the UK’s bid to stage the 2035 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

A stadium that signals ambition on and off the pitch

The award comes at a time when Everton are also enjoying positive momentum on the field, sitting in the top half of the Premier League standings.

Beyond football, Hill Dickinson Stadium has been central to Everton’s broader commercial strategy, attracting partnerships, including premium ticketing deals, and positioning the venue as a year-round destination for concerts, sporting events, and community activities.

The ground’s success is widely seen as a model for other clubs contemplating stadium redevelopment, particularly those looking to balance tradition with modern fan expectations.

FGG Says

Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium collecting Project of the Year is proof that ambition backed by thoughtful design and fan-centred thinking can elevate a club’s identity.

This award shows how far the Blues have come from the old Goodison days and signals a new era where Everton can compete not just on the pitch, but as custodians of one of the most exciting sporting venues in Europe.
