World champion boxer and Everton supporter Jazza Dickens has expressed his desire to bring a first-ever boxing event to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The WBA super-featherweight world champion appeared at the Toffees' new home during their FA Cup third-round meeting with Sunderland in early January and revealed his aims to fight in the new stadium to evertonfc.com.
WBA super-featherweight world champion to bring boxing to Hill Dickinson Stadium?
After being crowned the WBA super-featherweight world champion in December, Jazza Dickens walked out at half-time in Everton's FA Cup tie with Sunderland on January 10, 2026, later telling the club website about his aim to bring boxing to the new ground.
“It was a very proud moment,” Dickens told evertonfc.com on becoming world champion. “I’m one of only a few Scousers to do it – and one of the few Evertonians to do it.”
Speaking ahead of an upcoming bout with Irish boxer Anthony Cacace in March, Dickens added: “It doesn’t get much bigger than that. A St Paddy’s Day fight against a Paddy. It’s amazing. And in Dublin, they’re like us Scousers.”
“It’s sort of a homecoming because I was there for a few years. It would be nice – one day – to bring boxing to Hill Dickinson Stadium – but I’m really excited for the Dublin fight.”
“This is my first time being here,” he added about the Hill Dickinson Stadium last weekend. “I’ve been travelling the world, training and I’ve had a busy past few years”.
“So yeah, it’s my first time even being in the ground. I jog past the place a lot of the time, but I'd never actually been in.”
“It’s fantastic. It’s great to see what they’ve done with the place.”

Non-footballing events at the Hill Dickinson Stadium
Having only moved into their new home for the 2025-26 Premier League season, Everton have quickly started to make non-footballing plans for their eye-catching home ground.
The first came in a Rugby League Ashes test match between England and Australia in late November.
The atmosphere and scale of that event reportedly played a role in the Hill Dickinson Stadium being awarded the Super League Magic Weekend in July, when it will play host to a full round of domestic top-flight rugby league games over a weekend.
The Toffees have also sought permission to open as a later venue for concerts and other large outdoor events, both inside the stadium and in the fan plaza area outside, with discussions ongoing regarding licensing.
FGG says: Another great step for the Hill Dickinson Stadium
Having already shown itself as an impressive spectacle and one that is still able to house an impressive home atmosphere for Premier League games, unlike many newly-built grounds, the Hill Dickinson can only benefit further from non-footballing events.
The rugby league debut proved a success, bringing in a major weekend in the sport's calendar for the summer as a result, and a successful boxing event – particularly with the welcoming of a hometown hero and Toffees supporter – would only generate further interest for bigger and more varied occasions at Everton's Bramley-Moore Dock home.
