The home of Tottenham Hotspur is preparing to welcome another global superstar, with Jay-Z set to perform at the north London venue in September.

The concert will add to Spurs' rapidly growing non-football events business, which could now be generating more than £100 million in annual revenue for the club.

Tottenham set to make over £100m from latest superstar concert

Spurs do not disclose exactly how much money individual concerts generate at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but the financial impact of their multi-purpose stadium has become increasingly clear.

Research from Goldman Sachs estimated that Spurs generated around £55m from non-football events during the 2023/24 season, including concerts, NFL games and other major occasions.

Since then, the north London outfit have received permission to almost double the number of major non-football events they can stage each year, increasing the limit from 16 to 30.

Based on the previous revenue estimate and applying the increase on a proportional basis, finance expert Adam Williams believes Spurs could now generate more than £100 million annually from events at the stadium.

That figure would not represent pure profit, with the club responsible for costs including utilities, security and stewarding.

For concerts such as Jay-Z's upcoming show, promoters pay a fee to hire the stadium, while Spurs can also earn additional revenue from food, drink and other spending inside the ground.

The club have previously indicated that a sold-out concert can generate a seven-figure return, underlining why securing the world's biggest artists has become such an important part of the stadium's business model.

FGG says: These events are powering Spurs' spending potential

This is exactly why Tottenham invested so heavily in building a genuinely multi-purpose stadium rather than simply a new home for the football team.

Concerts from global stars such as Jay-Z, alongside NFL fixtures and other major events, are creating revenue streams that most Premier League clubs simply cannot match.

That financial strength is increasingly visible in the transfer market, with Spurs able to spend heavily this summer thanks in no small part to the money generated by their world-class stadium.
