England fans travelling to Hard Rock Stadium for the World Cup quarter-final against Norway on Saturday, 11 July, should plan their journey well in advance.

The stadium is located in Miami Gardens, around 20 miles north of Downtown Miami and South Beach, and unlike several other World Cup venues, it does not have a direct rail connection.

With tens of thousands of supporters expected to attend, transport services and roads will be extremely busy throughout the day.

FootballGroundGuide explains the best ways to reach the stadium.

Miami Game Day Express Shuttle

The easiest way for most England supporters to reach Hard Rock Stadium is by using the free Miami Game Day Express shuttle service.

The shuttle operates on every matchday between four transport hubs and the stadium. No advance booking is required, but supporters must present a valid FIFA World Cup match ticket before boarding. Rail or bus tickets alone are not sufficient.

Services begin approximately four hours before kick-off and run continuously as buses fill up. As demand is expected to be high, arriving early at your chosen departure point is recommended.

After the match, return services operate continuously until all supporters have been transported back to the shuttle hubs.

Official shuttle hubs

Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza Metrorail Station – The best option for supporters staying in Downtown Miami, Brickell or Coconut Grove. Connected to the Green Line and several Metrobus routes.

Golden Glades Intermodal Terminal – Ideal for supporters travelling on Tri-Rail or staying in northern Miami-Dade and Broward County. Paid parking is available.

Brightline Aventura Station – The most convenient hub for supporters arriving by Brightline from Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton or West Palm Beach. Parking is available nearby.

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – A useful departure point for supporters staying in Hollywood or Miramar who plan to drive to the shuttle.

Brightline

For supporters staying north of Miami, Brightline offers one of the quickest and most comfortable ways to travel.

High-speed trains connect Miami with Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Orlando. From Aventura Station, supporters can transfer to the free Game Day Express shuttle for the final journey to Hard Rock Stadium.

Tickets can be booked in advance through the Brightline website or mobile app.

Metrorail and Tri-Rail

Supporters staying in Brickell, Downtown Miami or Coconut Grove can use Metrorail to reach the Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza shuttle hub.

Tri-Rail also provides a convenient option for supporters travelling from Broward and Palm Beach counties, with services connecting directly to the Golden Glades transport hub.

Both rail networks are expected to operate extended services on World Cup matchdays.

Uber Shuttle

If available on your matchday, Uber Shuttle offers a reserved-seat service from selected locations in Miami.

Unlike standard rideshare services, the shuttle takes supporters much closer to Hard Rock Stadium, reducing the amount of walking required on arrival.

Seats should be booked in advance through the Uber app, as availability is likely to be limited for knockout matches.

Uber and Lyft

Standard Uber and Lyft services remain an option, but supporters should expect heavy traffic before and after the match.

Rideshare vehicles use designated pick-up and drop-off zones rather than the stadium entrance, meaning a short shuttle transfer or walk may still be required.

After the final whistle, demand and surge pricing are expected to be high, so waiting 30 to 60 minutes before requesting a return journey can often save both time and money.

Driving and parking

Driving is possible, but it is generally the least convenient option on World Cup matchdays.

Parking at Hard Rock Stadium must be booked in advance through FIFA's official parking provider, and supporters should not expect spaces to be available on the day of the match.

The stadium can be reached via Interstate 95 and Florida's Turnpike, but heavy congestion is common on the approaches to Miami Gardens before kick-off and after the final whistle. Anyone planning to drive should allow plenty of extra travel time.

FGG Verdict: What is the best way to get to Hard Rock Stadium?

For most England supporters, the Miami Game Day Express shuttle is the simplest and most reliable way to reach Hard Rock Stadium. It avoids the worst of the traffic, is free with a valid match ticket and operates from several well-connected transport hubs across the city.

If you are staying in Brickell or Downtown Miami, combine Metrorail with the shuttle service. Supporters based further north should consider travelling by Brightline to Aventura before transferring to the Game Day Express. Driving should only be considered if you already have pre-booked parking, as roads around the stadium become heavily congested on matchdays.
