Leeds United’s Elland Road transformation is gathering pace, with a major hospitality revamp completed as work begins on the club’s ambitious expansion plans which will increase the stadium's capacity to 53,000.

Around 30,000 sq ft of hospitality, corporate and player facilities have been refurbished as the club continues its wider programme of improvements at Elland Road and the Thorp Arch training ground.

Big money refurbishments completed

Leeds United secured planning permission in January 2026 for an expansion that will eventually take Elland Road from 37,645 to up to 53,000 spectators, with the approved scheme including the expansion of the West and North Stands and targeted alterations to the South Stand.

The redevelopment is also designed to bring Elland Road up to UEFA Category 4 status.

The latest transformation was carried out by Design Tonic and includes a 20,000 sq ft temporary hospitality marquee, providing four individual suites with capacity for around 1,000 guests.

The facility has been created while the West Stand redevelopment progresses and is designed to maintain the standard of Leeds United's permanent premium hospitality offering.

Amanda Cook, co-founder of Design Tonic, said: “Our relationship with Leeds United has developed over seven years, so we have a strong understanding of the club, its brand and the expectations of its guests, players and staff.

“Each of these new spaces have been designed to create a consistent sense of quality across the Leeds United estate, and we are very pleased with the final result.

“I’m also immensely proud of our team and the hard work that has gone into delivering such a significant programme of works in a short timescale.”

Mark Broadley, head of IT and facilities at Leeds, added: “Design Tonic has become a trusted partner to Leeds United.

“They understand both the operational requirements of a football club and the importance of ensuring every environment feels unmistakably Leeds United.

“This has been a particularly important project for us, supporting the next stage of development at Elland Road while ensuring our hospitality guests continue to receive a high-quality experience.

“At the same time, the improvements at Thorp Arch enhance the everyday environments available to our players and Academy.

“The completed spaces look fantastic and provide an excellent platform as the club starts the new Premier League season.”

FGG Says: Good news for Leeds

Elland Road is entering one of the most significant periods of change in its history, with Leeds upgrading the stadium and club facilities as they look to re-establish themselves in the top flight.

This kind of commitment from the owners can only be a good sign for the club's future.
