Pressure has been building on the Newcastle owners in recent weeks, and they are now seemingly getting it from all angles.
The fans are beginning to get twitchy about what they deem to be poor investment into the playing squad in recent years, with the likes of Jacob Ramsey and Anthony Elanga struggling after big-money summer moves.
Manager Eddie Howe has also gone public with his frustrations about the lack of clarity over the club's future in relation to the stadium and training ground.
Now, Joelinton has joined in on the pile-on by calling on the owners to make St James' Park the ‘best stadium in the world'.
Joelinton puts pressure on Newcastle owners
In an interview with the Daily Mail, the Brazilian midfielder has said that he wants Newcastle to become the best football club in the world, from the players on the pitch to the stadium and training ground. The 29-year-old is quoted as saying:
“The team wants to be one of the best in the world. For that, you have to be the best in the world in every respect, with the training ground, with everything to help the players to deliver their best selves on the pitch.
“I do think the club is going in the right direction. It is not easy to build something like that overnight. The club has made a lot of improvements since I came here. It is going in the right direction, I just hope that in the future we can be the best in the world with everything, the training ground and the stadium.”

The interview given by Joelinton doesn't feel like a coincidence, especially given the comments that Eddie Howe made just last week about how he feels the club are now in ‘limbo' due to the ongoing indecision over where the Magpies will be playing their home matches in the long term.
FGG says: Perhaps he should be careful what he wishes for
Without being disrespectful to Joelinton, if Newcastle are to become the best team in the world, then he will not be part of the furniture at St James' Park. However, as a player who has now been at the club for seven years, he is perhaps no longer talking out of self-interest but rather a genuine care for the club and its supporters.
