Forest announce ‘brand new museum’ at City Ground as part of improved fan experience

Nottingham Forest have announced that a new club museum will open on Saturday, March 3.

As well as this, Forest announced that stadium tours will be on offer at the City Ground, as part of the second phase of the club’s plans to improve the fan experience.

Phase two of fan experience agenda

The first phase of Forest’s fan experience agenda was completed in December 2023, when a Fan Zone was opened just outside of the Brian Clough Stand. This latest phase will improve the fan experience for loyal supporters of the East Midlands club and help them to “engage further with the local community”.

In a club statement, Forest said: “The state-of-the-art museum space situated in the stadium’s Trent End will be a celebration of the club’s illustrious 158-year history, housing some of the most treasured silverware and memorabilia charting Forest’s incredible journey through the decades.”

Museum and stadium tours at Nottingham Forest explained

Included in the museum is Brian Clough’s famous green jumper, the play-off final trophy from 2022, and match-worn shorts from memorable games in the past. Forest also said that there will be “interactive exhibits and an immersive video bringing Forest’s rich history and iconic moments to life”.

The stadium tour will take supporters into restricted areas of the City Ground, such as the dressing rooms, dugouts to the owner’s boardroom, manager’s press conference room, players’ tunnel, and much more.

Community-led initiative

Included in this initiative is the introduction of educational programmes for local schools, youth clubs, and community groups to learn more about the history of the two-time European Cup winners. The museum will also be available for community and charity groups to host meetings and events.
