We all have different routines on matchday, ranging from the mundane to the outright unusual, but there is one thing that more matchday fans indulge in prior to a game than those who do not – making a pre-match trip to the pub.
A pre-match pint, potentially combined with some food, is, in the eyes of many, the perfect way to prepare for the upcoming game, particularly for big matches or on significant occasions, such as the opening day of the season or festive fixtures.
With that in mind, here is your full guide to the best pubs near Stamford Bridge, providing multiple options for both home and away fans.

Located in West London, there is no shortage of bars and pubs in the areas surrounding Stamford Bridge. In fact, out of all the major London clubs, Chelsea fans may just have the best selection to choose from, alongside Fulham, particularly if you don't mind a little bit of a walk to the stadium.
A Standout option is Cock Tavern – an establishment loved by Blues supporters for many years and located just 0.4 miles away from the ground.
However, that isn't the only option available to you, with our full list of the best pubs for Chelsea fans near Stamford Bridge as follows:
- The Tommy Tucker – 22 Waterford Rd, London SW6 2DR – 5-minute walk to the stadium
- The Butcher's Hook – 477 Fulham Rd., London SW6 1HL – 5-minute walk to the stadium
- Chelsea Gate – The Chelsea Gate, 358 Fulham Rd., London SW10 9UH – 6-minute walk to the stadium
- McGettigan's – 1 Fulham Broadway, London SW6 1AA – 6-minute walk to the stadium
- Cock Tavern – 360 North End Rd, London SW6 1LY – 9-minute walk to the stadium
- The Goose – 248 North End Rd, London SW6 1NL – 16-minute walk to the stadium
It is worth noting that on matchdays, many of these pubs will have security at the front door who will require to see a valid match ticket or Chelsea membership card before allowing entry into the premises.
However, this is typically only in place when the Blues are taking on some of their biggest rivals, such as Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, or when a busy European match is on the schedule.
Best pubs for away fans near the Chelsea stadium
This time I was prepared & managed to get a quick snap of The Blackbird, A @Fullers pub opposite Earl’s Court Station. Two weeks ago I was blown away by the stunning floral display and the vibrant colours #Englishpubs pic.twitter.com/uSZy5Nrf9e

As is usually the case, while the selection for home supporters is seemingly endless, the same cannot be said for travelling away fans.
Earl's Court is likely to be your best bet, with The Blackbird marginally closer to Stanford Bridge than some other options.
Our full list of the best pubs for away fans near the Chelsea stadium is as follows:
- The Blackbird – Earl's Court, 209 Earls Ct Rd, London SW5 9AN – 25-minute walk to the stadium
- Courtfield – 187 Earls Ct Rd, London SW5 9AN – 26-minute walk to the stadium
- The Goose – 248 North End Rd, London SW6 1NL – 16-minute walk to the stadium
- The Broadway Bar & Grill – 474, 476 Fulham Rd, London SW6 1BY – 5-minute walk to the stadium
Although all of these pubs are welcoming for away fans, you should still behave appropriately as a visiting supporter in these establishments. This means being respectful to bar staff and not singing offensive songs.
Drinking away from Stamford Bridge
There is always the option of drinking further afield before a match at Stamford Bridge, particularly as you are in the capital of England after all.
Regardless of where you end up in London, you are undoubtedly going to be nearby to a cluster of pubs for a pre-match pint before a Chelsea game, just try and stay near to a tube station that is on the same line as Fulham Broadway – the closest rail station to the stadium.
Drinking inside Stamford Bridge
Perhaps none of those choices stands out to you, or maybe you aren't a fan of pubs altogether. In that case, one option available to you would be to get your pre-game drinks at the Chelsea stadium.
Despite being situated in an incredibly affluent area, pints at Stamford Bridge are actually fairly reasonably priced – at least by Premier League standards anyway. A standard pint at the ground will set you back approximately £5.70.
There is a wide range of beers sold at the venue, with two of the most popular being Singha and Guinness, but there will be something available for everyone, so don't panic if neither of those appeals to you.
